Works well in Lenovo ThinkPads

Pros: The most affordable true EPP adapter I have found for Win XP PCs which lack a true parallel port. I have not used on other systems.

Cons: Connection to devices (such as JTAG programming pods) which plug into this is a little klunky, often requiring unplugging and replugging the whole PCMCIA card to make to reconnect the external device. Also requires a slightly funky parallel port address since this doesn't locate itself in the standard parallel port space 0x378; in my case it was 0xFFD8 - but once that was done it worked fine.

Other Thoughts: Of course vendors still making parallel port hardware should switch to USB but for cases where you don't have that option this is a workable solution.

Pros: No pros.

Cons: This product caused the blue screen of death on a Windows XP system everytime I booted up. StarTec tech support is a guy saying I'm sorry your having problems check your BIOS for an update. This product's drivers are not Windows ceritifed. Maybe that's the whole problem. Beware as their is no information on this on any website I could find.

Pros: The product works great.

Cons: A little bulky. Gets in the way when using the laptop away from a desk.

Other Thoughts: I am using this to plug in two dongles to run a program for which I can not get updated usb hasps.
