5 out of 5 eggsenough power

Pros: Does what they say in the specs. The software show how much power you are currently using and how long it can run after the power goes off.

Cons: I wish the software would record the max that you use and give you the average amount.

Other Thoughts: I use my computer for games and it has a 1200w power supply in it. The most that I can tell im using is 480w and thats doing a benchmark, so it would be nice to know how much i use during a game.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: This UPS has been great for me and saved me from data loss more than once already. I'm really pleased with its performance.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing UPS Unit

Pros: -Uninterrupted Power for 5 years
-Long runtime.
-Data Link
-Sensitive Surge Protector
-Incredible capacity

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: The BR1200 has been running smoothly for my computers for over 5 years now. It has been providing battery backup for 3 midsized computers, and one server. The thing just cant be stopped! Incredibly stable, and incredibly inexpensive for a UPS of it's caliber.

Finally, It's time for me to replace the battery, and I have no regrets doing so knowing that it'll last me another 5 years.

The replacement battery is "APC #33" and can be found here: ?Item=N82E16842101198 . However, I will be replacing it through APC as they recycle the used one for free. It would probably cost me $10 to get rid of it safely through my recycling center.

4 out of 5 eggsA couple of small issues

Pros: Design, runtime, AVR

Cons: None really, just some quality control issues.

Other Thoughts: Great unit, and as usual Newegg shipped it like lightning. Unforuntately it took about 2 hrs to get it all set up due to a couple of small issues. First, when I went to plug the cat5 cables in, the ports fell into the back of the UPS. Not good. Opening it up (easy access at least, 6 screws) and realized whoever put it together never securely clipped the little circuit board into it's holder. Problem fixed. Reassembled. Put it all in place, and realized network switch had no power. Wiggled wire, and it worked. Darn. Open it up again, and realized this time that the power outlets also weren't properly seated and were stretched open a bit. A little work to push them all down and crimp them a bit, and it was good. Reassembled, fired it up, and FINALLY, it's great. Just shouldn't have had to do any of that. I know I could have just swapped it out, but I knew these were simple fixes.

5 out of 5 eggsAnother reliable piece of UPS from APC

Pros: It does what it's specs tells u.
It is indeed reliable. I never had any probs with it so far.
No prob handling my 850-Watt PSU... What? 850-Watt PSU?! :O
I know... the UPS is rated 780-Watt and Im running a 850-Watt PSU.
My rig consumes 550~720 Watts out of that 850-Watt PSU so... its fine! and Displays and all other stuff are connected somewhere else.

Cons: None so far.

5 out of 5 eggsJust what I needed

Pros: Has automatic voltage regulation (AVR)
Boost and Trim. This unit will intervene if the voltage coming from your outlet gets too high, or too low.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I'm not an electrician, nor do I have a degree in electrical enjavascript:Biz.Feedback.RateProduct.Form.submit('display')gineering. After consulting with friends who who are licensed electricians, and a friend who has a master's degree in electrical engineering, I was steered towards this unit, because of the above features, and the APC name.

5 out of 5 eggsgood UPS

Pros: Good unit, good to go from the get-go. The open source apcupsd is great, since my server, NAS and VOIP box all can monitor it (the server via usb, and the other two via tcp/ip to the main server).

Cons: Initial POST failed and claimed "replace battery", but I think that was user error on my part. Did another and it went fine.

5 out of 5 eggsLong time owner

Pros: Has protected my main brick for 5 years. Constantly power outages and surges. I have owned and installed many apc units over the years and this is the only one I recommend.

Cons: Price, but pays for itself over time.

Other Thoughts: If you can afford it buy this one. The cheap apc units are garbage. They have about a 75% fail rate. Even the ones from APC. There is a reason they haven't changed this desgin in 6 years plus.

5 out of 5 eggsBulletproof Protection and Backup

Pros: Small, simple to use, works with all my equipment.
User-replaceable batteries.
Easy-to-use USB-connected software for monitoring and control.
Free software updates from the manufacturer.
Amazing customer service.
The price is right.

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: Occasional power glitches were downing my two Linux machines several times a week, including one that I had in the DMZ so that some people that I work with can share files. I've had an older APC for years (it's on it's third battery, and this experience and anecdotes from others here is why I mention excellent customer service) and was thinking of adding a third computer. These run stuff for me and others 24/7 and this battery backup now limits downing the computer and reboots to intentional kernel updates. Although APC has control software for Linux, I control it from a notebook computer.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Unit

Pros: Stands on end so it doesn't take up much floor space. Very reliable. Lots of plugs on the back.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Bought this last winter just before some nasty weather hit. It protected two desktops and a laptop just fine when the power went out. It's shape makes it convenient to stash between a computer CPU and a table unobtrusively. I've bought APC for years and this is one of the best units among many good ones.
