Good if you like fires and melted plastic
- Pros: The ones that didnt melt or start on fire were ok....
- Cons: We have had sevral of these units melt where the PCB bord is and one accually started on fire. We have pretty good power where we are so we are stumped as to why this is happing. APC was quick to denie that it was their fault and offered no support.
- Other Thoughts: We have since switched to Eaton/Powerware and havent had a problem since.
Noone Ever Got Fired For Buying APC
- Pros: This is the one to get if you are looking for a dependable, inexpensive UPS. Make sure you get the BE350R model -- the "G" has two less outlets and less backup time.
I've used APCs -- this version and others -- for years and never had a problem.
The software is amusing, but generally not necessary. If the power goes out, you have plenty of time to shut down the system. Use the software if you are doing things that are unattended.
- Cons: The annoying beep when the power blips scares the dogs.
DONT buy this!!!
- Pros: Sometimes it actualy shuts down just my computer on battery power. Sometimes wards away light power flux.
- Cons: The List: I live on a ranch and the power out here in the sticks has LOTS of Brown outs! Almost daily. sometimes 5 times a day. Electrical noise is bad for sensitive electronics. A really good surge protector, but the battery only worked when it wanted to. Plus I have cats, and they like to step on that little button thing and turn off my computer outright. I'm like c'mon man! What kind on doodoo is this?
- Other Thoughts: Software was good; removable battery good; otherwise it was unreliable, unpredictable, and inconsistent.
