1 out of 5 eggsdisapointed

Pros: none

Cons: I'm switching brands. I've been an APC guy for 20 years. Now I'm going CyberPower. I got a cyberPower about 2 years ago. Been very happy with it. Got my current APC about 6 months prior and have been very unhappy with it.
It seems like it has always done this thing where it screams and shuts off, or actually shuts off then screams while the power is on. My other computer hooked up to the cyber power never blinks and the cyber power never indicates any disturbance in the power. My lights don't blink.
But my APC unit turns off power to this computer and screams at me.

After about 6 months of this with it getting more and more frequent I opted to try and replacement battery. This seemed to work for awhile - but then it happened again. But like the first time it started to happen I just turned the APC off waited a moment and turned it back on.
I seem to like to just chalk it up to a fluke, and go on, as I can have an actual power blink where the lights do go out and both the APC and cyber power keep their respective computers up till the power comes back on or I shut down.

But now it is doing it all the time again and I just checked the warranty. Year is up. 13 months to be exact. It first started doing it a couple months ago, but no company is going to care about that. So after 20 plus years with APC's I will be running two Cyber powers.

1 out of 5 eggsNEVER BUY APC!

Pros: It has not leaked.

Cons: Like all APC products, and I have used dozens, it does not operate at the specifications given. No APC does, they never offer the power or stamina APC offers. I am surprised APC has done so well to be honest. They make garbage. This replacement battery sucked from day one. My machine draws about 135 Watts and the battery, after 1 week of ownership, could not even give me enough time to safely shut down the system. This made having the battery more of a liability then not having one. Do not buy APC, they disappoint every time.

5 out of 5 eggseasy replacement

Pros: easy to replace the old battery and cheaper than replacing the whole ups

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I was surprised that replacing the battery was not much much cheaper than replacing the UPS.

1 out of 5 eggsDoes not work as advertised

Pros: None. It does not work as advertised.

Cons: This product does not perform anywhere near its advertised specifications. The battery lasts less then 30 seconds using 138 / 630 watt. It was like this since day one, and I long since disposed of it as its a low cost item, and ended up having to buy a better brand by a more serious manufacturer. That product met its advertised specifications. Also let me add, although this is my own battery, I have seen this issue come up consistently with APC products. Also let me add that i found their website and customer service difficult and time consuming. That is why I did not follow up on replacement. The amount of time I would have to invest in the RMA alone would make it not worthwhile. Had this been a more expensive item the time would have been justified. Stay away from APC. But if you do buy one and see the same thing be sure to post your review.

Other Thoughts: There are better options. Spend the extra money and protect your equipment with something that actually works.

4 out of 5 eggsGood battery...bad quality control

Pros: Works

Cons: The first battery ordered came in DOA. Newegg had to ship out a new battery .

Other Thoughts: I'm never received a non-working UPS battery, especially APC branded. Find a generic, they are just as good.

5 out of 5 eggsYay!

Pros: Its a battery, it works, holds a charge, still supports my new pc power-wise, and no more "Replace Battery" Light.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Ye ole "Replace Battery" light came on after a self-test a few times... having a newer battery on is better than relying on the original one.

5 out of 5 eggsGood deal

Pros: It works, you need it (assuming your APC is over a year or two old), nowhere better to buy this than Newegg.
