2 out of 5 eggsNot worth the money. Dead @ 2yr 6mo.

Pros: Brand name - Would expect battery to last as advertised ( 3 - 5 yrs. )

Cons: Only lasted 2 yr. 6 mo. 9/12/2011 - 3/25/2014 Not good for a Name Brand product

Other Thoughts: Could there have been a bad batch ? I see others also purchased late 2011 that died. Will not spend the money for Genuine APC again.

1 out of 5 eggsDead today 01-21-2014 new 09-09-11

Pros: worked well up until two-three months ago. APCC and/or newegg should replace it with a new one at a discount.

Cons: RBC7 not even 3 years life, and less than 2 1/2 years and now dead.

Other Thoughts: Only the electrical current still runs thru the Smart UPS SUA1500 so i can boot my PC but it is unprotected from outages, so I shut it down.

5 out of 5 eggsWorth my money

Pros: Great OEM battery. Pricey but worth my piece of mind and warranty. Connector already attached and ready to go for instant swap of battery.

Cons: Price could be lower for unit itself considering it's just the battery and nothing more.

2 out of 5 eggsLASTED ONLY 2 YEARS, 2 MONTHS

Pros: It recharged ok for the last two+ years. However, the red replace light just lit up with beeps a few days ago. Battery lost all charge, and then recharged with the red light coming back on with beeps that stop. Battery shows full charge again, but with that red light on.

Cons: newegg says 3-5 years. But it was not. extremely disappointed. neweegregious. may not buy another unless the price greatly drops. Also it came in a beat up cartridge that was recycled. I want a brand new battery, not a refurbished.

Other Thoughts: Two year two months is very poor endurance for something claiming 3-5 years service. Demand high quality I get better car batteries for less. It is about the worst performance for what is claimed of any tech product that I have ever purchased.

4 out of 5 eggsNot the best, not that bad.

Pros: APC re-branded replacement battery is usually ready to install and somewhat pre-charged because it goes thru performance testing process. You have the cable assemblies / connectors installed.

Cons: They are expensive and lately, the longevity is not there. This is also true for other SLA battery brands. I have been rebuilding the battery assembly for our data center rackmounts and standalones, for over 10 years. Previously, they last about 30-36 months. Now I am seeing as low as 15 to 24 months. If you have to replace a single failed battery unit from a pack, you might as well replace them all for a complete rebuild.

Other Thoughts: True- sometimes, it is cheaper to buy a new UPS but it will also require downtime to replace it. When you run a mission critical server, it is more practical to replace the battery module with the server stying online. You just need to be more proactive in responding to those replace battery warnings. When you buy the battery itself, stick with respectable brands, you get much better service life out of them.

1 out of 5 eggsOutrageous Price

Pros: Absolutely nothing

Cons: Price is way too high

Other Thoughts: Buyer beware. I have been using 3rd party SLA batteries as replacements in every UPS I've owned in my home and at work (once a unit is no longer under warranty). I have never had an issue related to performance or quality when using a 3rd party battery. Why anyone would pay these prices for an OEM battery which in this case offers no additional benefit, increase in performance or reliability. Look elsewhere... there is nothing wrong with using a good quality 3rd party battery in your UPS. They are every bit as good, and every bit as reliable as OEM.

5 out of 5 eggsEggcellent but more expensive than before.

Pros: It was fully charged on hookup, a plus. The price was about $29.00 lower than at the manufacturer, another plus for newegg

Cons: It was recycled from a used cartridge as it has scratches, unlike my dead battery that still looks like new. I don't like recertified products or recycled such as a battery that now costs a lot more than when I first bought the Smart-UPS with the RCB7 battery. Why are battery prices going up when tech products usually go down?

Other Thoughts: I have notcied that legacy computer items do go up in price, probably because of scarcity, and they are no longer manufactured, but still in stock.

If I could get my old cartridge renewed that would be a notch-above-awesome. Does anyone know of an outlet that can restore rechargeable batteries? If a banged up, scracthed and scuffed used battery could be recertified and sold again, why not just send a dead battery to get restored at a lower price somewhere?

1 out of 5 eggsFailed after 1 year, 2 months

Pros: Fast New Egg shipping.

Cons: Installed 7/10/10, (failed) died 9/20/11
You expect 3 years not a little over one year of usage.

Other Thoughts: Waste of money, we've had 3rd party batteries last longer.

4 out of 5 eggsReal APC battery, ships fast

Pros: This is a real APC battery and replacement was fast and easy. Newegg shipped it very quickly. Hopefully will give me another 5-6 years of life out of the higher end APC ups I have.

Cons: It no longer contains the return shipping labels, so to be eco friendly, you'll have to return it to a local Staples or some other large battery recycling facility.

5 out of 5 eggsBuy the complete UPS for 20 dollars more

Pros: Suggest that one simply buy a new UPS for 20 bucks more, free shipping.

Makes no sense to just buy a new battery.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: None
