4 out of 5 eggsSo far so good

Pros: Seems to be doing the job.

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: We've had big storms and blizzards where I live this winter and 1 of my 2 computers just can't take the slightest 1/10 of a second cut of electricity. It just dies while my other computer lives on without noticing.

Got this thing yesterday and it's another stormy night tonight.

I saw the lights flickering again 3 or four times. The exact thing that on any other day, my computer would've shut down.

All I heard was a bip from the APC telling me that something happened and... Computer stayed on without shutting off or even having any apparent shortage. I guess it worked as intended.

It's a 6 outlets (3 protected by the battery and 3 normal surge protected ones) and I have the computer, the rooter and the monitory on the 3 first, all the rest on the 3 others. I can't say how much time it can last but I'm confident that now, I'll be at least able to close my work properly instead of losing everything.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes Exactly What It Is Supposed To.

Pros: Works.

Cons: Not quite enough wattage to keep my system up if my power goes completely out, but I'm only having quick brownouts that don't even cause a hiccup to my HX850 anyways.

Other Thoughts: Got this because I was having voltage drops when my central air kicked on, causing my router with its poor power supply to drop connections. Got this on sale because I didn't want to replace my router.

4 out of 5 eggscheap basic protection

Pros: Cost-effective, APC brand UPS module. 3 plugs specific to battery backup provide enough for a computer, single monitor, and maybe a router to stay online through a South Florida brownout or storm surge. This UPS is better suited for equipment such as a satellite DVR or something else light that doesn't do well after a short power outage.

Cons: Bigger than a surge protector, only lasts one to two minutes with a computer or about 15-20 minutes with a dvr unless you turn it off quickly.

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a UPS that will let you play Call of Duty or keep your servers online through a blackout, this is not the device for you. Better features and longevity start to appear on the more expensive models; expect to spend around $100 to protect your $2000+ computer investment properly.

3 out of 5 eggsUPS

Pros: Low cost
Good for Cable modem Router BU
Bought this for my cable modem / router so they will stay operational long enough for my home server to email/text me about power failure at home . Does this function well

Cons: As talked about before NO PC interface , will NOT do auto shutdown, * no way to silence audible alarm except to shut down

Other Thoughts: Not a problem for me I read the reviews and it was what I was looking for, Not suitable as a unattended PC backup

2 out of 5 eggsPointless

Pros: Good price, nice size.

Cons: Very little capacity

Other Thoughts: I purchased this because the power will often flicker at my place and it will cause the pc to restart. Last time this happened there were a lot of problems that it caused my system. I figured that even though the size was small, it should give me enough time to shut down the pc. I didn't even have enought time to walk over to the pc and grab the mouse. It was already dead. This unit it totaly pointless.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Idea

Pros: Inexpensive, easy to set up, works like a champ.

Cons: The battery terminal was bent slightly so it was difficult to hook up the connection, but that is hardly a con...
This battery did not have a USB or other connection to use the PowerChute software... not a big deal, really.
Both of these mentions equal one egg.

Other Thoughts: APC has been my choice so far and will be in the future.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Wonderful working. No issues with 1 of them.

Cons: I bought two together and the 2nd one I got the battery sometimes makes an extremely high noise pitch. As if the battery was bad.

4 out of 5 eggsideal for a modem/router

Pros: Inexpensive
Name brand

Cons: Low wattage

Other Thoughts: You have to know what you're buying. This unit will not power most modern desktop PCs. I have a larger capacity unit for my desktop. It will however run my cable modem/router combo for hours. Along with a laptop, this lets me ride out most power failures without getting thrown into the stone age.

It's only about twice the price of a good surge suppressor and more effective against brownouts.

4 out of 5 eggsIntended Purpose

Pros: Got these to protect several budget office systems (150w max) demand and they work fine. Have 4 battery backup outlets - means the computer, monitor, external drive can all be plugged in. Another 4 surge only outlets for heavy draw equipment such as a laser printer, fan and such.

Cons: No Auto shutdown feature - You have to be near when the power goes out. Does not like high demand systems. They will beep if you exceed their rating (200watts for this unit) and will not allow you to power on such a system on battery backup outlet.

Other Thoughts: Keep in mind that this unit is not powerful enough to run a system for more then 1-2 minutes. Long enough to get through a brownout or other power drop. Otherwise, it's long enough to safely shutdown/hibernate your system before they're dead.
