5 out of 5 eggsQuiet as a mouse.

Pros: Nice look, LCD display shows battery and load graph, multifunction numerical readout can show other stats. (I won't even bother with connecting the data cable to my PC, I can get whatever I want from the front panel.)
Multiple buttons allow full configuration without installing special software.
Quiet! Makes no sound at all when nominal or trickle charging. Even when running off the batteries it's significantly quieter than my old APC BackUPS Pro 650S.

Cons: Uses a weird MJ-10 to USB cable for the data connection. One more funky cable to loose. No eggs taken off for this since I'll rarely if ever plug it in.

Other Thoughts: Win7 Pro recognizes the unit without any special help. Activates the 'battery power' control panel options as if my desktop was a laptop. Fairly elegant on Microsoft's part, and it's nice not to have to install additional monitoring software.

The master/slave outlets are a nice feature in theory, but in my case when the UPS cuts power to my scanner, the USB connected scanner unfortunately wakes the computer back up. I tested this by unplugging the scanner manually also so this clearly isn't the fault of the UPS.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Works out of the box with Windows Server 2003 and Ubuntu Server 10.10. Both OS's see the battery backup and give me a battery meter. The backup battery works great, keeping my server online for over 6 weeks at a time :D The LCD panel on the front gives great information, like current voltage, and how many watts are being used currently, among other things.

Cons: Could have a bigger battery, running a Server, monitor, router, and modem I get about 30 minutes of backup power.

Other Thoughts: Great for the price :)

3 out of 5 eggsDoes not protect from wide voltage swings

Pros: Cost.

Cons: The APC website has nearly no informaiton about this series of UPS's. Hint - If you have trouble finding them there, they are found in the "AV Cables" seciton of their website.

The highest low-voltage threshold is 88 Volts. That is very low for electronic devices. The low-voltage threshold should be closer to 112 Volts.

Other Thoughts: I built my own UPS's while in college as an Electronic Engineering student. I wondered how companies like APC could sell UPS's for the prices of my cost of parts. Now I know. My UPS's were much better.

5 out of 5 eggsAPC Power Reliable

Pros: A power outage almost wiped out everything I was working on, on my computer, if it wasn't for this device i would have lost almost 8 hours of work, as well as probably burnt out a few devices, we had a reoccurring brownout that was flashing the lights and playing havoc with one of my monitors that wasnt hooked up to the unit. (That monitor is now dead).

Cons: Its heavy...

Other Thoughts: Its got a pretty decent battery life especially for gaming rigs, while 10 minutes may not seem like a lot of time, it gives you enough time to drop everything your doing, make a quick save of all your information, backup whatever you need to and shutdown with still 70% of the battery life remaining.

1 out of 5 eggsDefective

Pros: Great when it works.

Cons: Unit was defective.

Other Thoughts: Unit was defective. Called APC 3 times to get unit replaced. Long waits on phone while representative had to check with others. They made me test the unit many times by letting the defective unit kill the power to my computer while it was running. This is not good for a raid array, that’s why I bought the UPS in the first Place! They made me ship the defective unit back to them at my expense and these units are heavy, there goes another $30.00. I purchase many uninterruptable power supplies for myself and others. This was once one of the best companies I had ever dealt with but now after my third defective unit and poor customer service I feel I may look some ware else.

5 out of 5 eggsworks perfectly

Pros: Looks great; slim design; easy setup; completely silent except when running on battery; easily replaceable battery; blue LCD gives lots of info such as how many volts it's getting from the outlet, how many volts it's supplying, wattage load, number of events, estimated run-time on battery, and more. Beeps to warn you if it's running on battery (can be muted). Lots of outlets.

Cons: haven't found any so far

Other Thoughts: At first I just wanted a UPS to clean any dirty power and protect against brownouts to improve my PCs longevity, but due to some very bad (and bizarre) weather we've been having, the power went out 3 times this summer resulting in a hard shut down each time. I seriously started to worry that another power outage might damage my computer, so I finally decided to invest in a UPS. I actually got the 865 Watt version of this model (that NewEgg apparently doesn't carry). I plugged my PC and one of my monitors into the battery outlets and hooked the data cable up to my PC, then unplugged the UPS from the wall to make sure it properly made the computer go to sleep after 5 minutes as I set it to do (which it did). The UPS also beeped to alert me that it was running on battery. Then, only a week after getting it, we got another bad storm at night causing the power to go out while I was asleep. I woke up pleased to find that the UPS had done its job. Would definitely recommend this.

5 out of 5 eggsHappy with UPS

Pros: I like this UPS. It is thinner that the other UPS's that I have owned and it take less space. Does not have a fan that runs ALL OF THE TIME. I have two monitors, computer, and speakers. Plenty of time to get the computer shut down. Has a pretty blue LCD display that you can have on all of the time to show load or other parameters.

Cons: Can't find much about it on the APC website. No replacement battery info about it yet, but they have not been out that long (I guess).

Other Thoughts: I would like to get another one for my other computer, but I just bought new batteries for my other UPS.
