Manufacturer Limited Warranty period (parts): 1 year
Manufacturer Limited Warranty period (labor): 1 year
Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: less than 1 day
Pros: Good specs
Cons: Unknown
Other Thoughts: I haven't bought one of these, but I'm tempted. I have three others plugged in right now and two on the shelf. Small towns in tornado alley tend to lose power a lot.
With my first UPS I installed the software and found it to be of no use. I haven't bothered with installing software since. I don't install the USB or serial cables either. Just plug the unit into the wall and plug the computer into the UPS. No problems with software or artificial timers.
For the one star rater--it's probably as hard as spelling continuous correctly.

Pros: Price is better than most for a 1000VA UPS.
Cons: Software for this stinks. It's almost identical to the Geek Squad's app except one MAJOR option that is missing on this one, the longest it will allow your PC to run before the auto shutdown is 5 minutes! Why not allow it to run until the battery is low? And Windows Vista and 7 are missing their UPS control options so you're stuck with CyberPower's lame app, THANKS MICROSOFT!
No USB, just 9pin serial (a lot of MB's don't even have serial any more, thankfully mine did).
Other Thoughts: Other than the app stinks and no USB, I like it. ;)

Best deal for the money

Pros: Best protection for the money, really. Free shipping is great on such a heavy item, as well.
Cons: Frankly, the software sucks! Enough to bump one egg off.
Other Thoughts: I thought I had a serial port when I bought it, so I was pretty miffed that I had to buy a serial to USB converter. My fault for not reading, really. I'm going to try to find some software that is compatible. Will post a link if I find it.
