2 out of 5 eggsCauses Packet loss when using communication protection port

This review is from: CyberPower CP1000PFCLCD UPS 1000 VA / 600 Watts PFC compatible Pure Sine Wave with USB Charging Ports

Pros: Says it will run for several min with 2 computers and monitors

Cons: Causes packet loss when you connect your data cable through the communication protection port.
I guess it protects your data in a way by not allowing it to ever reach the internet....

Manufacturer Response:

We’re sorry the CP1000PFCLCD did not meet your particular requirement. The primary purpose for the CP1000PFCLCD is to provide high quality power protection with battery backup and surge protection to your connected equipment. Features include pure sine wave output, AVR technology for clean and consistent AC power, and ENERGY STAR compliance for reducing energy consumption and heat buildup. Although CyberPower’s base protection for phone/network (RJ11/RJ45) and cable/coax (RG-6) doesn’t meet every situation, it provides sufficient protection to most installations.

If you would like to discuss the issue you have with the networking capabilities of this model, please contact CyberPower’s Tech Support Team either via phone at 877-297-6937 or via email at priority1@cpsww.com. We look forward to hearing from you.

5 out of 5 eggsMost Have!

This review is from: CyberPower CP1000PFCLCD UPS 1000 VA / 600 Watts PFC compatible Pure Sine Wave with USB Charging Ports

Pros: Since i live in florida power outs are normal enough that i just had enough and didnt want my new pc to get hosed when i wasnt around. So i bought this and man its worth ever cent. The Powerpanel has a nice self-test to see that the backup is working fine and the log of when and how long the power went out is interesting to see as well as if the unit is charging and how long it could last on battery. Works on Windows 10 64bit

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: If you want to save your pc from random power on /power off events get this and have some peace of mind.

5 out of 5 eggsCP1000PFCLCD is a great UPS

This review is from: CyberPower CP1000PFCLCD UPS 1000 VA / 600 Watts PFC compatible Pure Sine Wave with USB Charging Ports

Pros: Pure Sine Wave power supply doesn't put unnecessary stress on modern power supplies. This product also takes up a minimal amount of space and shows up as a battery backup in OS X without any software or drivers. Here is what I have plugged into this UPS with only one bar on the load indicator:
Mac Mini 2012 server (quad i7 with two HDD) and IPS monitor
External thunderbolt with 3 Constellation ES.3 drives
QNAP 2-bay NAS
DSL Modem
Airport Extreme

Cons: I considered putting some cons in here but realized that they were all features available in the higher end model where they belong. At this price point and form factor it is as it should be.

Other Thoughts: I replaced a very old BackUPS 1500 that took up quite a bit of room and cost well over a hundred bucks in batteries every two years. Had this in my wish list for some time until it came up on shell shocker and received the notification. Bought it on the spot.
This model might not be the best choice for a crazy gaming rig, but it appears to be very efficient. I highly recommend it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Battery Backup

This review is from: CyberPower CP1000PFCLCD UPS 1000 VA / 600 Watts PFC compatible Pure Sine Wave with USB Charging Ports

Pros: This is a great little battery backup that supports PFC.

Cons: None that I have found.

Other Thoughts: This is the best thing under a true online, double conversion system.

5 out of 5 eggsa Must Have

This review is from: CyberPower CP1000PFCLCD UPS 1000 VA / 600 Watts PFC compatible Pure Sine Wave with USB Charging Ports

Pros: This has provided great protection from frequent power outages in my area. The connection software works well and can shut down my computer for extended outages. This is a must have item for anyone who wants to keep their hardware safe. I run it in multiple locations for work and home. I plan on adding another one for my internet hardware soon.

Cons: Only con is when you first get it, it will show 100% charge. You have to do a system test (where it disconnects the battery to test it) after you plug it in so it accurately reads the level and fully charges it. I have had to do this on both units I own.

If you let it charge up fully after first test, you will notice a much higher run time if you test it again.

1 out of 5 eggsBuyer Beware

This review is from: CyberPower CP1000PFCLCD UPS 1000 VA / 600 Watts PFC compatible Pure Sine Wave with USB Charging Ports

Pros: Price is OK

Cons: Faulty unit/model
Shuts off randomly

Other Thoughts: Buyer Beware: These Cyberpower units have a common fault F02 which is an internal short likely due to lack of quality control (these are made in China). My unit will completely shutoff with a fault F02 at completely random times that isn't detected by the Power Panel software. Do not trust your hardware to this UPS! It happens as frequently as about once per week.

I've contacted Cyberpower and was informed that this is a known fault in these units and I can send mine back for an exchange, however I must pay for shipping (these units are heavy and must be packaged properly $$$ cha-ching! ) and it'll take 4 weeks turn around time for a replacement. I have owned many Cyberpower products but this one leaves a really bad taste.

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding

This review is from: CyberPower CP1000PFCLCD UPS 1000 VA / 600 Watts PFC compatible Pure Sine Wave with USB Charging Ports

Pros: Does exactly what it says for a good price. It is a good looking device. This device exceeded my expectations. It easily handled a simulated power outage.

Cons: Minor transformer buzz when charging the battery. I have several tests in mind for this unit, I will let you all know if I find anything.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks for my purpose

This review is from: CyberPower CP1000PFCLCD UPS 1000 VA / 600 Watts PFC compatible Pure Sine Wave with USB Charging Ports

Pros: It's relatively cheap compare to other similar class products. Software is simple and works well... Does the job with 80 Plus Gold 750W PFC Power supply.

Cons: Battery only lasts for about 5 min (at most). However, I know that going in.

Other Thoughts: UPS is Connected to PC (with 2 HDD, 1SSD, 750 TI Graphic Card, 1 BR Drive, MSI Z87-G45 Gaming Mother Board, 2 8GB DDR3 1866 RAM, i7-4770K CPU overclocked to 4.2 GHz) and a 40 in LCD TV, Router with 5Ghz N Wireless LAN.

1 out of 5 eggsKills network speed

This review is from: CyberPower CP1000PFCLCD UPS 1000 VA / 600 Watts PFC compatible Pure Sine Wave with USB Charging Ports

Pros: cheap

Cons: The network jacks to protect the signal cable from carrying a surge only allows speed of 100 Mbps. So on a GIG network, it throttles speed down.

Cheap and disappointing! We had to find out after ordering. No more!
