Pros: Arrived on time

Cons: 1st one arrived with a dead battery. Would not hold a charge. 2nd one worked for about 2 days and then kept sounding overload alarms and wouldn't hold a charge.

Other Thoughts: At $24 shipping cost to return it, you only get 2 tries before it is no longer cost effective to return this item. I purchased a very expensive paper weight.

Pros: Inexpensive UPS; the features should be good for most basic uses

Cons: Normal usage shows 17~21% of load on my computer (only the PC and monitor on it). It will work fine for a week or so at a time, then suddenly have it go in Overload (even with the computer off!). I have several other units by Powercom in the house and none have this issue. I even had the outlet checked to make sure that it was wired correctly and it is. On several occasions, I have sent email to Powercom via their website but have never heard anything back.

If the overload wouldn't cause the computer to shut down abruptly at times, I might give it 2 eggs. I have other units from powercom and gladly give them 5 eggs.

Other Thoughts: Powercom's website looks like a 3 year old did it and makes things very hard to find. Don't look to them for support

Pros: Plug it in and it works. Software is a little crude, but works. Looks Windows 95ish. Does have a 2 Year Warranty.

Cons: Purchased the unit in February, but didn't begin using it until May. 1 Quadcore PC and 1 28" monitor. 3 weeks ago it started randomly telling me it was overloaded. I reduced load and next week it was still overloaded. Now, even just running by itself, about once a day it says it is overloaded. It does pass the self test.

Other Thoughts: I saved about $25 over a comparable APC..Not worth it.

Will post my results of dealing with the warranty.

Pros: Easy to use and works as advertised in a power outage.

Cons: The input voltage tolerance is way too tight causing the relay that switches the unit from AC to battery power to click on and off every couple minutes. I have this unit plugged into the same circuit as two from another manufacturer and this is the only one with the issue.

Other Thoughts: The switching issue doesn't effect the performance of the UPS but it can get rather annoying if your working quietly.

Pros: Have had one of these back up power sources for about 2 years now and never had a problem with it. When the power goes out it does what it is suppose to. I basically only use it for if the power goes out then the pc shuts down properly before the battery goes dead. Also nice to have if storming and need to see the weather on net.

Cons: none

Pros: Not overly large, works very well EVERY time, has variable beeps so if you aren't using the software you know when its battery is getting low.

Cons: A bit heavy, but that's to be expected.

Other Thoughts: I paid more than double what these go for now, 2 years ago. I now use that one for my aquarium and cable modem/router/vonage adapter and phone. It lasts more then 2 hours running that. I'm buying another for my PC.

Pros: When it works, it works. Oh, well...

Cons: Shortly after this was just one year old, it began totally failing, every time, to provide back-up. As soon as the line power failed, the Powercom UPS immediately gave up too.

Other Thoughts: I suspect that Powercom is using really cheap batteries in their UPS's that have either short life or cannot survive more than a few re-charge cycles. THIS IS A PRODUCT TO AVOID, FOR SURE!

Pros: After reading all I could about PC stability I decided on this unit for a ground up build. It's easy to use and the socket layout makes it easy to turn on/off.(it sits next to my 21" monitor) It's a well made unit and gives me confidence that I'm feeding my new Thermaltake PSU and my system clean steady power. As a minimalist I tried the optional software/serial port connection and then opted to uninstall. I'm mainly using this device to filter AC but since I live in the Rockies and we get frequent lightning strikes and outages having the time to shut down is definitly a big plus.

Cons: Honestly none, I looked at other brands and decided on this due to basic cost/benefit.

Other Thoughts: I'll admit for years now I've tended to put the blame for system instability everywhere but at the AC socket; "it's Microsoft!" Now I know better and am enjoying my workstation a lot more. My revised opinion: don't plug a PC in without one of these, whichever brand you get, or your quest for true system stability may prove to be illusive.

Pros: I guess would be good if you only want it for the 120 side.

Cons: Everyone list this as being a 120/220 unit. It will BLOW up if you put it in the 220. Newegg, PowerComm and the box list it as 120/220.

Other Thoughts: I will never buy anything from powercom again. This is the third unit that was listed this way. I bought all three at one so i didnt see it coming until it was to late. I did use the up for a little while for the 120 side but when i moved it for the 220 side that is when it made a big spark out the side.

Pros: Never lets me down. I have two computers (home server and HP Media Center) and my Samsung 21" LCD monitor running off of this and the load level never gets above 50%. Due to storms and bad weather here in Florida, we get a lot of quick power-outs and brownouts, but thanks to this great little machine, my valuable (expensive) gear always goes unharmed.

Cons: None at all. A monkey could install it, and it's maintenance free.

Other Thoughts: I've had this unit for 10 months and it has never given me a problem. The case is a little warm, so be sure to follow the manufacurer's instructions not to block the vents, and they say it's not good to connect a laser printer to it because of the power draw caused by the warming up of the fuser. Oh well, I'd rather lose my $XXX laser printer than my $xxx monitor anyday.
