PRIZM is revolutionary among graphing calculators with features that enhance users' understanding of mathematics. With conventional graphing calculators, students learn by inputting equations to create graphs. PRIZM creates a whole new way to learn math by enabling students to experiment by creating their own graphs over pictures of real-life scenes, and then understand the functions from the graphs that they created on their own.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat graphing calculator

Pros: The display alone is worth the price; the detail can only be surpassed by Mathcad in a PC and the fact that it is back lit makes it easy on the eyes for older people like me. I place this calculator between a TI-84+SE and a TI-89 in functionality, for all of us forced to use TI in education centers. Can do logarithms in any base, can graph inverse functions, natural notation makes it easy to enter equations without making mistakes. Lots of memory for programs and more numerical accuracy when I compared it side to side to a TI-83+. Doesn't need a "backup" battery. Owner's name is password protected and can't be reset by menu, reset button or pulling batteries, which can help to prove ownership if stolen. Very long battery life and very fast (have it for a month, no decrease in battery bars yet despite heavy use). USB connection to PC and it comes with the cable and software to transfer and present display on PC screen. Looks like a large smart phone.

Cons: No CAS, no 3D yet. People used to TI's might have some trouble adjusting. No programs available yet, as it just came out (no SDK either). Some education centers won't allow it in exams as they don't know it. Didn't buy it at Newegg as it wasn't listed here a month ago.

Other Thoughts: Great buy and much more for the money than other offerings from the competition. Why are other brands still using low-res-black-square-dot screens in 2010? (and 30 year old cpus/battery hogs, etc)
