5 out of 5 eggsGreat!

Pros: Very quiet! I've never seen a shredder cut paper into such small pieces and not make hardly any noise. Works very well - on CD's too.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsHappy Camper

Pros: My first shredder so I have nothing to compare it with. Used in a SOHO and we been filling the bag every 1 to 3 days so getting good use out of it. Extremely quiet, I have had PC's that were louder. Just a slight hum. Shreds to teeny size, about the size of a character in this text. It is rated for 10 pages ata time but I have already thrown a 24 page "Pennysaver" newspaper in it. My goal was to test the jamming mechanism but it shredded it.

This is an engineering office so I also have paper prints up to 24" x 36" in size. Took few of them (2 at a time) and tri-folded them so I had 8" x 36" x 6 sheet thickness and it did stall right near 2 out of the 8 times I did it. Not sure if it was jamming or if it was because it had gone in askew as one edge of paper was crinkling against slot edge when it happened. But I just hit reverse and put it in straight and all was fine.

Cons: Well this one probably akin to all shredders but when ya open the bin, there gonna be paper hanging or half stuck in shredding mechanism. You can prevent most of this by alternating reverse and forward button for a second or two before opening or opening the bin half way, reaching under & running ya fingers once across the bottom of cutter mechanism to clear "hangers".

One thing I noticed, is that when the paper is drawn in it seems to get pinched. That is once it starts getting pulled down it goes from straight flat to saucer shaped (curved) and as it gets near the end, it sometimes folds over on it self. I thought this might cause jams if there was enough paper placed in the slot, for about 1/4 inch of width it might be cutting 30 thickneses of paper instead of 10. I called Fellowes and they said this is typical with micro shrededders. However the more paper you put in it seems the less you see this effect happening. It's most pronounced with one sheet at a time.

Other Thoughts: Was surprised to see it arrive Thursday afetrnoon after placing the order late Monday night. Newegg website wasn't showing a tracking number 36 hours later so I called Wednesday morning and got them. But UPS had no info on 2 of my 4 tracking numbers till Thursday morning and it showed up later that day. Not bad for ground shipping a 55 pound package.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Shredder

Pros: Quiet. If you've ever tried out the shredders available at the national chain stores, you've probably been put off by how loud they are. The 460Cs is extremely quiet. Just a low hum while it shreds. And when they say "micro-shred", they mean it. Very tiny pieces. The CD shredder is nice too, although it shreds in strips.

Cons: The shredder exterior was really dirty, as if it was a re-box. Sending me a re-box/return item when I ordered retail wouldn't be the first time for Newegg. The casters had lots of dirt build-up, the blades had shreds hanging from them, the bin and interior of the shredder had shreds lying everywhere, and the cord was twisty-tied kinda half-assedly and unevenly. Just didn't look new from the factory, rather, re-boxed and returned.

Other Thoughts: I'll keep it, but as a long-time Newegg customer, I was disappointed for the second time in less than a year with what a appears to be a re-box. The shredder is awesome, though. Definitely worth the money.
