Rosewill RSH-511M 11-Sheet Cross-Cut Paper/CD/Credit Card Shredder

Pros: Great shredder. got it on discount and was very happy with it. did its job well. i like the reverse and off switch which makes it safe.

Cons: Died on day 370. used around a total of 30 times

Pros: It worked for 2 years, though it got fairly noisy over time.

Cons: It worked for only 2 years.

Other Thoughts: Ok, it was a cheap one....but with the small amount of shredding I was doing I think my forty dollars should have purchased me more than 2 years of shredding.

Cons: Even with very light use it's going downhill fast.

I noticed crack in plastic work where cutting head is mounted within one week. Glued it as best I could. Within 2 weeks misaligned tab on bin for head-off override broke. Improvised a solution with a piece of old credit card and glue. Within a month its slowing down, overheats quickly, does maybe 2 pages at once. Total yield? Somewhere between 6 and 10 bins of shredded paper.

Other Thoughts: Needs to be built stronger.

Cons: This Rosewill shredder is a real piece of garbage. Don't buy it. Always sounded like it was working way to hard to shred even 2 sheets of regular paper. Then one day no paper would feed. Sounded like a bunch of ball bearings floating around inside of it. Sure, Rosewill will replace it under warranty, but they wanted the whole thing sent back. $25 for UPS one-way. No thanks. Easier to just buy something rated better locally, which I did, and put the $25 towards a better product. This is the 2nd Rosewill product I purchased that was a piece of garbage. There will not be a 3rd, at any price. Looking or a shredder? Look elsewhere.

Pros: Shredded paper until it died.

Cons: Does not to a good job and dies prematurely. Definitely does not shred 11 sheets without a serious struggle.

Other Thoughts: I used it once a month for almost 9 months so it's not like I was really punishing it or anything.
At first it would shred up to 10 sheets, but would really struggle so I tried to only feed it up to 6 sheets at a time. Any more than 6 and it would really complain.

Do not buy this shredder. Find something else. Seriously.

Other Thoughts: Only cuts cds, dvds, or credit cards in half... not really shredding at that point. Can do the same thing with scissors.

Pros: It shreds without overheating even after about 35 minutes of shredding a large stack of papers. Tried this again at the end of the week for 20 minutes and had the same great results. The large handle on the top makes it easy to empty the bin.

Cons: The CD/Credit card slot is fine for CD's but not for secure credit card destruction. Running your credit cards through the main slot is an easy solution for secure shredding. Otherwise no major cons on this item.

Other Thoughts: Overall experience has been quite positive. I will be ordering one for my work as well. I would highly recommend this for home office use. I have had many shredders over the past and this one for its price was comparable to the $100 ones I have used.

Pros: Good shredder for the price, I shredded a foot high stack of paper and no problems. It smelled a little bit but I imagine its not made to shred for that long. It's still working great > 1 month later.

Other Thoughts: Now it is a "CD/DVD/Card only" unit. Got back to my previous "Staples" model with no cross-cut.
