The wood is solid and the frame is built well. Its great for small space. I got it for my new NY apartment and it fits well. Its high enough for gaming and writing. I am 6 feet and my chair fits well underneath and I have enough leg room. Cons: The shipping carrier that brought the desk to me, AIT Shipping, was terrible. First they had an attitude about having to bring my desk to the 1st floor! They had to go down 4 stairs beneath my stoop and they were sluggish. Really annoying. They make it all the way to my door and one of the guys drops the box from full height onto my wooden floor. Then proceeded to leave my apartment without saying sorry while I had a talk with the other guy. I asked what was that and is it going to be ok? He just brushed me off and I clearly needed a desk to work on. After I opened it...luckily there was no damage because it was packed well. The box isnt even that heavy for two people to carry. Those guys sucked. The desk had saw dust covered all over. The only thing you need to put together are the legs. One of the leg's screw holes were misaligned and drilled incorrectly. I had to hammer in one of side of the drawers to allow it to flush properly. It looked like they just made the desk before they shipped it to me. I had to clean saw dust from inside the drawers also. The body had small dings and scratches. Other Thoughts: Its definitely not worth $399. That is a steep price tag for this desk. You can get better ikea quality for cheaper. I like the desk however its not worth the price. Look elsewhere. Newegg luckily has decided to reimburse me some money for reconciliation. I appreciate Newegg customer service always. They are great. I needed a desk and did not want to repackage and send it out. It would be costly and time consuming. Dont buy it! bottom line. Ill just deal with it and its ok for me given the circumstances.
