STU-300 LCD Singature Tablet

Compact and Efficient: Ideal for Portable Use

The STU-300 LCD Signature Pad offers a quality monochrome display and 396 x 100 pixel resolution. With its small, compact design and durable, robust quality, this tablet is suited for professionals working with digital documents that require customer signatures.

All Wacom signature displays have a comfortable signing surface that mimics the feel of signing on paper. Its elegant, ergonomic design is perfect for customer-facing transactions because the signature can be viewed as the signatory is writing on screen.

Pens are cordless, battery-free and require no maintenance. A tether is provided to prevent loss.

  • 4.0" Monochrome, transreflective LCD display provides easy viewing even in bright lighting conditions.
  • Small, compact design for efficient use of space.
  • Serial data connectivity is available as an option.
  • Wacom's patented electromagnetic resonance technology has high durability because it has no active circuitry in surface glass. It supports pen pressure and has high sensor resolution for detailed signature data.
  • Hardened glass signing surface is extremely durable. Protects LCD and is highly resistant to scratches
  • Patented cordless, battery-free pen with 512 levels of pressure sensitivity to accurately capture the unique pen pressure profile of a signature to be included in the biometric data
Compare The USB-powered STU-300 offers a compact form factor, monochrome display, and a wide signing surface that accommodates even the longest signatures. Like other Wacom eSignature LCD tablets, the STU-300 provides:

Signature Accuracy: The tablet's high sensor resolution and pressure levels produce a clear and true-to-life eSignature.

100% Hand Rejection: Electromagnectic resonance (EMR) is used to capture the movements of the pen, not accidental touches by the hand or finger. EMR ensures that only the intended signature is captured.

User Acceptance: An anti-glare surface and the ability to see your signature as it is captured provide an intuitive signing experience for new users.

Lower Cost of Ownership: A durable signing surface and Wacom's cordless, battery-free pen technology contribute to a lower total cost of ownership.
  • With its compact and durable design, the STU-300 is ideally suited for professionals who work in the field or for offices with limited counter real estate. The STU-300 is currently being used by insurance agents as well as sales and service representatives. The STU-300 is also the perfect choice for in-office eContracting applications and for eSigning account opening documents.
  • Wacom signature tablets are perfect for customer-facing transactions: they have an elegant and ergonomic design, offer a comfortable signing surface that mimics the feel of signing on paper and sport an anti-glare protection glass that makes it extremely durable. Thanks to its embedded sensor, the STU-300 offers an extended lifetime compared to resistive surface devices.
  • The STU-300 enables you to capture handwritten electronic signatures thereby eliminating the need for paper.
  • The sensor registers relevant biometric information about the signature, such as data coordinates and pen tip pressure levels. The individual pressure profile, the writing rhythm, and the writing speed result in a unique biometric signature.
  • No need to worry about the tablet not working because of a damaged tether. The pen can be tethered to prevent loss, but the tether is not required for operation.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks - But not right out of the box.

Pros: Light weight, nice shape to write on, good price.

Cons: no drivers or software available for the STU-300

Other Thoughts: Before I ordered the Wacom STU-300 signature pad I got on their website and read the technical information about the pad. In several areas it spoke about being able to use the pad with Adobe Acrobat to capture signatures. Looks good! I ordered it, and let my user know I’d have her signature issues taken care of.
When the pad arrived, I quickly opened the box to read through the installation information, and found there was none, except warnings and safety information. I did see in the paperwork “No Driver Available”. Plugged it in, and the computer did see it as a USB device. But that’s all. Great.
I fired up Adobe 11 Pro, and sure enough, the software didn’t see the device. OK, I thought. Time to send this puppy back to Newegg. First time for that, after several hundred orders from them in the past years. Bummer.
I then started to look for signature capture programs, and found “SINGificant Client” - it said it didn’t matter the brand or model of the pad, everything would work – and a downloadable demo was available. So I downloaded the demo, installed it, and there, on the STU-300 panel, was the XYZmo logo and a signature line! Cool!
I fired up Acrobat, and after a few tweaks, I could sign a box in a fillable form I’d created. Well worth the cost of the extra software. I got the user up and running, and didn’t have to go through the hassle of returning the pad. But buyer beware – if it doesn’t say specifically that the pad will work with your software, it probably will not.
