1 out of 5 eggsDon't waste your money

Pros: Its looks pretty, the interface is nice and it plays MP3s well. Basically it is a good player.

Cons: I bought this to run with. It broke after I used it less than a dozen times because some sweat leeched into the case. Apple would not replace it under warranty. Let me clarify that I didn't do anything ridiculous to break it, it is just very sensitive to moisture damage.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent, not without a couple flaws

Pros: 8GB is plenty of space for me. The video looks crisp, and I even found a way to get Youtube videos on here. Album Art is awesome, although I spent 2hrs straight getting all the album art right. Itunes is OK for me, I don't like any synchronizing software personally, but Itunes is the best so far imo.

Cons: The Ipod WILL freeze on you about 1-2x a day. Not so much a big deal, and keep in mind I even updated the firmware on mine. Also When I boot up computer with Ipod plugged in, it will hang (computer is trying to boot from Ipod) This is my motherboards settings fault though. Only other con is so far you can't put Rockbox or Linux on here yet, it's encrypted.

Other Thoughts: Definently worth the buy, I got mine for $150 buying refurb directly from Apple.

5 out of 5 eggsSweetness

Pros: Superior size, almost idiot-proof menu's, did I mention size? 8gigs, price for what you get. Also, I love the small packaging deal Apple is doing, less raw materials wasted for putting it together, and less of a hassle for the consumer to throw away.

Cons: See other thoughts...

Other Thoughts: Only gripe is 2 things: 1. iTunes...you either love it or hate it, I cant put it as a con *would be biased on my part* and 2. Seriously people, EVERY manufacturer uses 1000^3 bytes to compute file size/storage...while every computer/electronic device uses 1024^3...stop your complaining, its called binary >.> Also, sorry Newegg, but I needed to buy from a certain mart of wal's since I also needed a couple of other items.

3 out of 5 eggsiPod Nano

Pros: Great support from Apple and very low chance of crashing the system. Lots of music available from the website with ease of use and download.

Cons: There is not enough room in 8GB in what they say this product can do. By the time I downloaded just MOST of my music I was alreeady over 8GB and that leaves to room for movies or videos, and that doesn't even include the games that Apple offers.

Other Thoughts: If you are a music fan like I am at least 16 gb IS A MINIMUM. I guess that is what I get when I send someone to buy products for me. I have had some problems from music that was downloaded from "other" sites with my system crashing. WHen the music was deleted the problem was fixed.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty darn good

Pros: Very light and small. Video Quality is very good. Bright screen and nice look. 8 GB goes further than I thought it would.

Cons: The click wheel is way too sensitive for my taste. and there is no way to tone it down. I have big hands, and the middle button is so small, when I try to press it sometimes scrolls down a few things because my finger barely touches it, so I select the wrong thing. It also jams occasionally.

Other Thoughts: I would have given it 4.5 were it available. Overall, it's a pretty good package. It's almost too small though. If they had a slightly bigger version with more space, I would take that instead.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat choice

Pros: Too many things to say so I'll say a few. Great resolution and sharpness, video support, coverflow is nice, improved UI, and overall really great.

Cons: No FM Tuner, Coverflow is laggy (v1.1). I knew these before purchasing though so they don't apply to me.

Other Thoughts: Wow, this thing was a little smaller than I imagined! Upgraded from a 1st gen 2gb iPod nano and I must say it was worth it. I know there are some other good players like the Zen but in the end I decided to go with the nano because I like the ease of the click wheel and interface.

5 out of 5 eggsApple iPod Nano

Pros: Apple iPod. What do you want to hear? It's exactly what you expect. It works, sounds great, good battery life.

Cons: Apple makes their packaging look as cheap as possible, to make you feel as though you've just wasted $200. Fear not.

5 out of 5 eggsI'd love to say it's the best but no single player is right now

Pros: It's very tiny, light and thin player - probably the most thin player out there Videos look crystal clear and sharp. Great menus system. Best control system (I've tried a lot of current MP3 players). Unlinke previous Nano generations, this one allows you to change the brightness (1-100%).

Cons: The battery is not really user chanable. My original Gen1 Nano after HEAVY use for 2 solid years will still last 7 hours though. No FM tuner. No voice recorder. No exandable memory (micro SD card).

Other Thoughts: 8G is the max for a flash player right now, with the exception of those that have a micro SD card slot. 8G can hold over 300 songs encoded @ 128Kb/s though. That's around 20 hours of music. High detail movies will take up .75GB for every hour of video. Also, for a smaller memory size your getting a MUCH smaller player with no moving parts, no skiping and much less power consumption.
