The 6th generation iPod nano: the newly released model has been completely redesigned with Multi-Touch — the same technology that makes iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch so amazing. In sleek anodized aluminum and seven bright colors, iPod nano features a 1.4-inch color display with 240-by-240 pixel resolution. It's tiny yet stunning. And the built-in clip keeps your music moving with you.

iPod nano the 6th generation features Genius as your personal DJ, along with a built-in FM radio, VoiceOver that speaks 29 languages, a pedometer, an optional Nike + iPod Sport Kit, and more.

Now it’s half the size and even easier to play with its multi-touch interface. Everything about the new iPod nano is a huge hit. Be the first of your friends to get the latest nano!

  • newegg Ridiculously Smaller Than Ever You would think it is impossible for Nano to be any smaller than the 5th generation back in 2009. Now, Apple has once again pushed the boundaries of what’s possible in the industry. The 6th generation iPod nano is 46 percent smaller and 42 percent lighter than its tiny predecessor. Spooky or what? Built in the perfect size for a tap or a swipe, iPod nano 6th generation let your fingertips feel right at home.
  • newegg Gorgeous Multi-touch Display Adopting the same multi-touch interface from iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices, the 6th generation iPod nano allows you to navigate your music collection by simply tapping or swiping a finger on the touch screen. You can even rearrange the icons on your Home screen so your music is organized just how you like.
  • newegg Play All Day and All Night The built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery gives you up to 24 hours of nonstop music. So when you clip on an 8GB or 16GB iPod nano, you’ll have plenty of tunes to make it through your commute, your workout, and beyond.
  • newegg Genius, the Music Mixmaster Say you’re listening to a song you love and you want to stay in the groove. Just tap Genius. It finds other songs on your iPod nano that go great together and makes a Genius playlist for you. For more song combinations you wouldn’t have thought of yourself, create Genius Mixes in iTunes and sync the ones you like to your iPod nano. Then tap the Genius Mixes icon and rediscover songs you haven’t heard in a while — or find music you forgot you even had.
  • newegg Radio Nano Ride the airwaves on iPod nano. The FM tuner shows the artist, song, or program you’re listening to. Just tap to see the radio controls, flick the radio dial to change stations, and tap to set your favorites. You can pause and rewind up to 15 minutes of any radio broadcast with its amazing Live Pause feature.
  • newegg Stay Fit with Every Step iPod nano doubles as a pedometer, which makes it the ideal exercise partner. It keeps track of your steps and helps you meet your fitness goals. Just clip it on and walk on. You can create a daily step goal and check your progress when you upload all your data to the Nike+ website.

5 out of 5 eggsBest player I've owned

Pros: I've had this baby for over 2 years and It's still going strong! and screen is still scratch free after everything I put it through!

You can turn off voice thingy. Very easy to do.

I personally love the clip, that is the main reason why I bought it because it'll clip anywhere on my shirt. Then all I gotta do is flick my fingers to change tracks etc.

Cons: The only con I would really have to complain about is that it requires Itunes, which is a very great music organizer and player software, but the format limitations just kinda annoy me!

Other Thoughts: Too bad they stopped production. I don't know what I would do if this little guy broke because it is the BEST portable audio player I've ever owned. I've been looking through new players and none of them impress me.

Also, how the hell do people complain about not being able to use this thing? It's idiot proof!

1 out of 5 eggsalbum art album art album art

Pros: small, cute, good battery life (lasts longer than I was willing to use the thing)

Cons: Annoying, cryptic, difficult to navigate, annoying voice response with grating agitated voice. I don't know how much it holds or how the radio works. Never could get far enough to determine that and not interested in playing with this junk any more.

Other Thoughts: What can I say? I have a gen 2 nano and really like it. Got this as a gift and am embarrassed they could not make it work. I couldn't either. There's this constant voice response to everything. Instead of being helpful or soothing it's agitated and annoying. It's sped up to about twice normal speed so after a very short time I wanted to crush this thing with a hammer. Apple has clearly substituted mindless religion for product design. They were once an example to others, but now they are more an example of what not to do.

5 out of 5 eggsCompact and user interface good enough

Pros: Small. Has clip. Uses Nike+ as well as stores photos, plays radio, and what else????? stores music. Good buy for the money

Cons: when trying to go backwards the "swipe" to do that goes too far or not far enough quite a bit. Nothing big just annoying.

1 out of 5 eggsVERY Dissapointed

Pros: This is my first "apple experience" and it sucked!

There are no pros, but I will use this space to describe my technical knowledge so you wouldn't think I am technically illiterate.

I am working as a network technician for the ISP and I am pursuing a computer science degree. I've always built my own computers and never taken my computer to the shop if it gets broken but rather fixed it myself.

Cons: I don't even know where to start. OK, here we go.

So I unpack it and power it on. Quickly navigate through the menus back and forth - everything looks good.

Hearing how user friendly apple devices are I figured I should just be able to toss my mp3 files to the device by simply using windows explorer after hooking ipod via USB cable and be ready to go. And so i did..but sure enough no songs were recognized.

Fine, I thought, there is probably some lame apple software that I will have to use to make it work. And I was right. So I download itunes and mess around with it for about 20 minutes till I am able to get songs "appear" on the ipod. While at it, I am being suggested to update the software for the ipod and so I do without suspecting anything...

Next i plug the headphones and play a song. One of the headphone does not have any sound. That got me concerned. But then I twist the plug to the ipod and make both headphones to work. I listen to the song for about 20 seconds and

Other Thoughts: ...the notice that "screen is dim". I thought, "well that was annoying", since it interrupted my song. But then I continue listening and after about 20 seconds I hear "screen is off" and the song stops. I had to press power button to turn the screen back on and play the song again. But 40 seconds later same thing happened! And now there is no way to go back to the main menu, sliding screen from left to right gets you nowhere. So to skip to the solution I found that the software update I did through iTunes messed it up. So i reverted it and then navigation through menus is great again. I did some forum reading and found out why my songs were shutting off after 40 seconds.

It is because my headphones were not plugged to the iPOD ALL THE WAY. So this was part of my fault. But still - my first Apple experience was terrible and I will not use apple products in the future if there is an alternative.

4 out of 5 eggsAnother nice Apple MP3 player

Pros: No other MP3 player in this price range compares to the quality of this device.

Cons: Specs indicate it is supported by Linux, but I can find no software that supports this generation of Nano for Linux. My 2nd generation Nano was supported by a number of software packages under Linux.

Other Thoughts: Makes an awesome watch and the pedometer is a nice touch.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty good

Pros: Light
Nice screen
Easy to use
love the watch accessory.

Cons: Stuck with Apple dictatorship
twice the price of what it's worth

Other Thoughts: I'm not an apple fan boy, and I can actually say I don't like Apple (for personal reasons) but I needed something small and with a touch screen and this was really the only thing on the market that fits what I need. It's a really nice device and I can see why Apple is so popular, however, I dont see why they have to limit you to only their prodcut and extreme pricing. It IS a good product.

Maybe Android should get with a developer to make MP3 players. I'd go with that if the price is right.

3 out of 5 eggsDoes what it should

Pros: Plays music, has flash storage ability, has a radio.
Came with everything to get you started.
Bright screen
Plenty of EQ preset choices
Easy to use

Cons: No way of subscribing for music which is a major setback
You need a computer to add music unlike my ZuneHD
Adding music is harder to do because iTunes is Not friendly to music purchased from other digital music stores, the cd-burn then rip works, but quality is lost.

Other Thoughts: I bought this iPod because it was compatible with my car's headunit. I have never really been an Apple fan, and I don't think this device has impressed me at all, but it does as it advertises to do; play music and act as a radio. This unit is good for people who will have access to a computer when they want to add/remove music.

5 out of 5 eggsLove It....

Pros: I love this nano. I got it for my girlfriend because hers broke on a recent hiking trip. This 6th gen nano is everything the original nano was plus more. It has fm radio capability, a pedometer, and it's small enough to fit into your pocket without being too bulky. My girlfriend loves it, I love it, and you will too.

Cons: True, the bat life isn't all that great. So make sure you have a car charger if you're always on the go. If not, the 6hr. bat life should be good enough to get you through work and what not.

Other Thoughts: I disagree with the others who say that price is a con. Yeah, it would be nice if it were $100 or less. But then again, if money is an issue, maybe you shouldn't be buying things you don't need.

1 out of 5 eggsBahh...

Pros: Small neat and useful for so many reasons, especially for running and exercising. But I'm using it for a watch.. so theres nothing really good about it.

Cons: Lack of apps.. there are practically nothing from the apple store for ipod nanos. This is basically something for listening to music and radio and nothing more.... Its more a ipod shuffle touch rather than the advertised ipod nanos

Other Thoughts: Delivery is the pits... took them 11 days for them to arrive when the delivery time was supposedt to be 4-7 days. nearly missed Christmas...
