- Pros: Excellent sound quality, and excellent build quality. This is my second player from creative, I dropped my vision M into some water a while back which just killed me, I loved that thing to death. This is an excellent replacement though, sounds and looks fantastic (screen, but the casing is nice too I suppose).
- Cons: Buttons are a little small, which can be pretty annoying at first. You get over it I guess.
- Other Thoughts: Lol @ "Romero". Didn't want to return because it was an exchange policy? Are you kidding? You clearly didn't purchase this item. I didn't know you iTards were out writing false reviews now. If you are going to do that, make it sound more believable than that garbage you just typed up.
Also for the people who are having a few issues be it freezing up or rebuilding libraries, you might want to watch for firmware updates as creative stays on top of that pretty well.
Great all arounf PMP
- Pros: Newegg customer service is very good. I am using Zen every day and night - music is an integral part of my life. Great sound quality, intuitive menu, Centrale music file transfer software is more stable than Zen explorer, very good battery life, much more sturdy than Zen 32. I use Lentek buds which are excellent, they are better than Creative's EP830 bundled with the X-Fi, though they are good. Configurable user menu is great. Video quality is very good, more formats than most other PMPs; Speaker is good, calendar and voice recorder useful, FM tuner needs a strong signal. This PMP is based on the Freescale Sigmatel STMP3700 PMP chip, X-Fi is accomplished in software to save power. Overall better than 5 top PMPs I looked at - I was on the edge about Cowon, however Nearest competitor: Cowon D2 16GB limited to F500 folders and 6000 files: Internal memory 3000 files and folders, external memory: 3000 files and folders. I have 6300 files on Zen's internal memory and 1.7 GB free.
- Cons: Slide on/lock/off button on back is slippery and very difficult to use, long battery life only when slider is in locked position and display is off - firmware should change to add a display shut off timeout in unlocked mode. Would be better to integrate SD card however challenges in file allocation table limitations and boot up time may be prohibitive. FM tuner is weak but usable. Display is not transreflective and hard to read in sunlight.
- Other Thoughts: A universal AC to 5V USB power supply with +3.3V on D+ (1K/2K Ohm) and D- 15K to ground is essential for traveling; minimum 500 mA to charge in ~4 hours. 2.4 A can charge in < 2 hours. I Hope Creative updates firmware with well thought out user suggestions. Creative Support responds.

- Pros: The player has awesome sound quality and the screen is nice. the best thing is the drag and drop feture to put your songs on.
- Cons: ive gone through 3 of these low quality things.
the first was my radio quit working, my second one the thing wouldent dock to my computer and the third one it wouldent turn back on. they also freeze alot.

- Pros: The Zens (we have two) both have produced fine sound, and worked well, overall, for a limited time.
- Cons: The cost of the unit is simply not worth it, given the service life.
Worth every penny... and more
- Pros: The sound quality of the Creative ZEN X-Fi MP3 player, IMO, exceeds or equals that of all others that I've tried. 32GB of flash memory will more than handle my needs. The included earphones are of the highest quality and are the most comfortable ones I've worn. The FM radio has great reception, even in buildings that typically block such signals. The included speaker provides a reasonable (although low volume) option when you can't wear the earphones.
- Cons: As others have mentioned, the buttons are small, but manageable for my big fingers. The menus are not always intuitive, but once you get the hang of it they are not so bad. I do understand that there are issues when trying to sync this device to Apple computers, but that doesn't affect me.
- Other Thoughts: I'm very happy with this device. I bought this unit mostly for the outstanding sound quality, but I have to admit not quite getting the point of the X-Fi Crystalizer settings. Those settings occasionally improve a song, but often don't make enough difference to matter. Also, I am pleasantly surprised to find that I listen to most music without including the effects of the equalizer. This player manages to render most music beautifully without changing the equalization. Also, I have to rave again about the great earphones. Newegg did a great job getting my order to me quickly with only the minimum price shipping option.
