5 out of 5 eggsGreat Player

Pros: Good all around player. Android is a good os. 32gb sandisk extra memory cards go for as little as $20.

Cons: Seems to be hard to get now. Probably why this company is charging $299.

Other Thoughts: Places like Best-buy, Walmart etc seem to be out of them all the time and I guess they just never seem to "get on the truck"

1 out of 5 eggsBy something else.

Pros: Screen size is nice, I guess.

Cons: Do not buy this device. It is a waste of money.

I bought this to be a stand alone MP3 player. While it can do a lot of other things, the one thing it isn't very good at is playing MP3s. The software on this device is bunk. The device locks regularly while playing music, and there is no way to remedy this other than restarting the device, as it will not respond to any input commands. Tried to update the software, but you have to sign up for a Samsung account and even then, there isn't an update available to remedy the horrible bugginess. The actual product itself might be very capable, but the software is a wall that prevents any kind of real use.

Do not buy this product unless you just want to donate $200 to Samsung for some reason. I bought an iPod less than a month after this product. I am much happier with it, even it if means I have to use iTunes.

5 out of 5 eggsWOW

Pros: It does everything. I mean EVERYTHING! The sound quality is Amazing. The Back speakers are great. The extra size is amazing. I am a big guy so the little 3.6in screen was WAY too small for me to type on. This 5in screen is large enough to type on. Also with the large screen size I am able to watch movies on it and they look GREAT! The picture quality is really good. The camera is sharp and gives great picture. I love all the apps I can get I mean there are tons of them. I highly recommend this product.

Cons: None really. I have no real complaints about it.

4 out of 5 eggsNice!

Pros: wireless performace
fm radio

Cons: screen res could be better

Other Thoughts: This is a nice media player, e-reader, gps navigator, etc. etc.
I would only ask for a higher screen resolution to improve it, but I have to admit that it does very well with the 800X480.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Player

Pros: Bought one of these refurbished for my 10 year old son. I read a terrible review on Cnet and man is it wrong. This is not a tablet but can act like one and it is not a phone, but can act as one with the right app. It is a great kindle or nook with e reader apps. It has expandable memory unlike a kindle fire or Apple anything. The screen is great and not grainy at all. It is very similar to a Galaxy S 2. Video play back is better than any of the similar priced iPod touches because of the larger screen. The camera is very good as well. If you are tired of iTunes problems this is your device you plug it in and it becomes a hard drive and you drop your music on. No crazy iTunes and I have 5 Apple products in my house. I love my iPad. I hate iTunes and the whole restoring you iPod errors that my kids experience.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This is a great player and is not a true tablet or phone and should not be compared to either, yet it can function as a tablet, movie player or even as a phone. Plus, it is a great gaming device and best of all, no iTunes to mess with.Set it as a mass storage device and off it goes. Also, It is a great ereader. FYI the CPU is single core but plenty fast. If you like Galaxy Phones you will like this a lot.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little tablet

Pros: -Great and durable screen
-Decent speakers
-takes decent photos
-has accommodations for a lanyard/wrist strap
-seems to built pretty solid (has taken a few small drops)
-charger is nice, and will accept other standard USB cables
-Pretty decent built in media applications
-Good battery life
-Size is small enough for pocket, but big enough for meaningful use as a media & internet device
-Default internet browser works well
-comes with a good number of good applications.
-useful task-manager, but not the best organized

Cons: -No way to customize 'Music, Video, Internet, Applications' shortcut bar
-No way to force desktops into landscape mode
-despite it's intended purpose it does not come with a built in kickstand or [mini]HDMI out. Which are two things my 4.3" Archos 43 had.
-forward facing camera is not that great.
-No way to add a song to favorites list without making a custom playlist.
-There is no option [that I have found] to eliminate or prevent duplicate songs in a playlist

Other Thoughts: -Biggest storage size as of my purchase was 8GB. It is expandable, I use mine for media and internet. Movies are a big chunk of media, as you may imagine space gets used up quickly. I find myself pretty well tethered to my PC transferring movies and media. It's not a big hassle for me, and I'd bet many people at this point are cloud users (which I am not), so it's necessarily a con.
-Get the Dolphin Mini or Dolphin HD front end, and try out the beta which is not just a front end, but a promising full on browser.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent PDA replacement!

Pros: Good screen size
Speaker sound is nice
Expandable with micro sd card
video quality is very good
Android apps!
Wifi only--no data plan required!
dual cameras, back one with flash

Cons: Non replaceable battery
a little bulky
camera does not have zoom--but not a big deal

Other Thoughts: I bought this as a replacement for my Palm TX PDA. It's hard to find a device now to keep track of appointments, notes, etc that will sync with Outlook doesn't require a data plan. I finally found one in the Samsung Galaxy Player. Compared all the sizes and finally settled on this one. It's a great alternative for those of us needing a PDA. Wireless works great, it has GPS and bluetooth. It's a great media player but also a calendar, note pad, and with the right apps can even be an e-reader and a car gps! It pretty much does it all. Wish this model had the replaceable battery like the 4.2 and 3.6 but it charges quickly and the battery seems to last. Unlike the Ipod, it's expandable with a micro sd card. Very pleased. Would definitely recommend it!

2 out of 5 eggsNice Try, need better hardware

Pros: Well designed. screen is great for watching movies indoors. Competitively priced. Android OS is stable.

Cons: Not daylight viewable.
Processor and RAM are so bad that it makes my device unusable for audio books. Some higher end games cannot run on this device due to hardware limitations.

Other Thoughts: Sound quality is ok. Could be much better considering its a media player. My Droid X2 has much better sound quality. Built in music player has issues with saving where you were at on your playlist, download a better one from the app store.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product

Pros: I shopped around before I bought it and this to me seemed like the best for the money. I love everything about it. I never owned anything touch or anything with apps. My phone is still old. The galaxy does everything I want and much more. The picture/cameras on it for movies or skyping is great. The sound is great. The internet is fast and the apps are abundant. The battery lasts longer then I thought it would even when used multiple times a day for long periods. I love the big screen. I have small hands but it fits nicely. It is easy to operate. My daughter enjoys this device at 2 years old (there are plenty of learning apps for children). The gps is lovely. It saved me from getting lost by saving a portion of the map using the navagation app that was installed already. Works like a normal gps unit but uses the internet to retrive the route. I am quite happy with my purchase.

Cons: Not many accessories but I'm not one for accessories.

Other Thoughts: The only thing it does that I do not like is it will "charge" to 100% without being plugged in anywhere. Needless to say, it is not really charging, it dies within 2 days for me even when it says fully charged. I don't know why it does this but if I turn it off and back on it has the correct charge percentage. Easy fix. Not really a con jsut worth mentioning.

3 out of 5 eggsBoooooooo!

Pros: Looks nice.

Cons: Bought it to use with my $200 Bose ear buds and they do not work with it. Maybe there is a spec I could have read that would have told me this ahead of time.
