5 out of 5 eggsPerfection

Pros: Solid build, great functioning software, easy to load media from Windows Explorer, great screen, great sound. MicroSD 8 gig in the expansion slot gives this double duty as a thumb drive. Got a 3rd party case for it which takes care of the screen. I couldn't ask for more. I could quibble about the video format and having to use the um FREE converter, but then I'd just be well, quibbling...I mean, video for this price? 12 Gigs of storage? It's outstanding.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This doesn't need comparing to any other more fashionable equipment to shine.

5 out of 5 eggsCustomer Service!

Pros: SanDisk's customer service is VERY good, Micro SD slot for expansion, reasonably functional interface. Feels high quality in-hand.

Cons: It died after 3 months... :(

Other Thoughts: I have to say, I was annoyed that it died... but one call to sandisk and they are sending me a shipping label for RMA and replacement with a brand new one. ONE call. The call center is outsourced, but the gentleman spoke my language well and was very helpful. He had me do some troubleshooting, but I was only on the phone for about 5 minutes. Doing an RMA is never convenient, but it's good to know that sandisk stands behind their product. I am very satisfied... and if NOTHING else, I will buy another sandisk because of how good the support is. Good job, sandisk.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect Player

Pros: Small, lightweight, durable. Excellent build quality.

Cons: Video conversion seems a little tricky.

Other Thoughts: Overall this is an excellent player. I love the fact that it accepts MicroSDHC cards - essentially that gives you an unlimited amount of memory. I bought this player and an 8GB card giving me a 12GB flash based player for less than $100. It's a no-brainer.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat mp3 player

Pros: Very cheap
Nice, responsive, mostly intuitive interface
Good headphones included
Plays mp3s
SDHC slot - this is far and away the best feature. Buy an 8GB class 6 MicroSDHC card for $15, and suddenly you've more than doubled the capacity of this mp3 player!

Cons: Keep on improving, price/capacity ratio of non-volatile solid-state memory!

None, really.

Other Thoughts: If they had been in stock around Christmas, I would have gone with one of the 8GB Sansa models, or maybe more.

5 out of 5 eggsJust what I was hoping for...

Pros: It's cheap, it's NOT made by Apple, and it LOOKS and ACTS like an ipod.
+ MicroSD slot...add 16gb!
+ FM tuner works really well
+ Voice microphone MUCH better than my cellphone
+ Ipod jog dial
+ 220x176 color screen
+ Can view photo slideshow while listening to music
+ Can watch videos (I have loaded DVD's onto this unit)

Cons: Forget what it says about playing mp4's. If you copy an mp4 directly to the unit, it won't play.

You MUST use Sansa Media Converter to load videos onto the unit. Therefore, you are limited by whatever file types SMC can accept. Divx (DX50) is one of them. Make sure the audio streams are mp3, and not AAC or AC-3, otherwise you could end up with video and no sound.

SMC is actually a great program, it has video cropping and one-click conversion. If "SMC doesn't work," it's because the file was wrong to begin with.

Other Thoughts: Overall it's as good or better than I could have imagined.

Video support is the one weakness. It's good enough for a hacker, but drag-and-drop users should check out the Sansa View.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Product.

Pros: The player works great, has great sound quality. Resolution is good, even if the screen is rather small for watching videos. The microphone picks up well.

Cons: Screen scratches very easily, but it comes with a handy little carrying case, so don't forget to use it.

Other Thoughts: I got it when it was on sale for $55.00, and it's well worth that price, and I guess it would be worth $99.99, but you could easily find better deals here on newegg.

5 out of 5 eggsI Love It

Pros: Sounds great. Worked as advertised once I updated the firmware. Headphones are better than I had expected. Records FM broadcasts. Several presets for the equalizer AND the ability to create a custom one if you don't like any of them.

Cons: The documentation is sketchy. You might get the impression that you can use the video converter without having the Fuze connected but that's the only way I could get it to run. Once I connected it up, the converter gave me all the options and it ran smoothly after that.

Other Thoughts: Update the firmware! I got a great deal with this one. It was $48 and the 8 GB Micro SDHC card set me back another $19. With free shipping and handling, it cost me $67, which is less than what it costs to get just the player now. Even at $80, it's still an excellent deal. I wish I had bought a couple more for Christmas presents.

5 out of 5 eggsSandisk Sansa Fuze

Pros: Nice user interface. I bought it for my technically challenged spouse and was pleasantly surprised to see her operating it with ease. Next time Newegg has a similar sale I'm going to pick up one for myself.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I hear that screen cracks account for the death of a lot of these devices so I recommend buying one of the available custom cases for this unit.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic

Pros: The device is really nice. It is sleek, small and colorful. The SD slot to add storage is great.

Cons: The interactions with the computer are not great.

Other Thoughts: Some have said the device scratches easily but from what I can tell, it seems very sturdy and scratch resistant. It also comes with a sleeve to carry the device in.

1 out of 5 eggsWorst of all mp3's i ever bought

Pros: When it works it's great. That is rare.

Cons: This is by far the worst experience I have had with many players. I did not rma it in time and that I regret. It is unpredictale and therefore undependable. It sometimes refuses to turn on and sometimes turns it self off. I get a blue ring and nothing else. It won't always be found by windows and shows up several different ways. In addition it has a propitary cable. That stinks.

Other Thoughts: I do not know if mine is defective or all are but there are several recertified available. That speas volumes. Buy an Iriver or creative. They are great. I also had a cowen, it seemed fragile and stopped about the same as the warranty.
