Flash Based!!
- Pros: Flash-based, bright screen.
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: Dude below... "Drive Spinning?" There is NO drive to spin...it is flash-memory based.
Great player, great price
- Pros: Great price, bright screen, no HD. Expandable memory via micro-sd.

You rate yourself as "high tech" understanding, yet complained about "heat from the drive??" My friend, this is a flash-memory based player. NO HARD DRIVE. That's why this unit is so desireable.
Issues Resolved !
- Pros: 16 gigs, cheap, sd micro..... Use for work... For mp3 player... generally stays charged for 10.5 hrs ... In pocket... Great Sound, Good Movie player sharp, Good Equalizer ..
- Cons: Heat Problem occurs when holding the View in your hand to long this will eventually lead to device failure... SanDisk needs to warn people this device is not to be held in hand for long periods of time or your body heat combined with the drive spinning will lead to failure..
To long to transfer movies and music.. runs at about 1.9mb... Other usb music stick transfers data at 2.3 mb per second...
Some music, movies will stay on device and will not delete as stated by your computer had to go into the Sansa View and delete files manually...

Resolve
1. Locks up...
If you put the device in lock mode then release it usually the freeze on songs goes away .... Repeat 2 or 3 times...
2. Heat issue or static electricity
1. ScanDisk needs to come up with a plastic case similar to Ipod to get static electricity from building up in your pocket... This is the number one issue for freeze ups...

I also recommend when you buy it get a plastic cover for the screen will scratch easy ....
