5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Small, expandable, in general good sound quality, cheap

Cons: When the device is busy, and playing quiet music, CPU noise may be audible (this is with Rockbox). This rarely happens.

Other Thoughts: Rockbox with a 64GB card.

5 out of 5 eggsExactly what I ordered!

Pros: Shipping was fast and it got here a day early during Christmas shipping days. The unit was exactly what I wanted, ordered and expected.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I recommend this product and this supplier.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat MP3 Player

Pros: Small, good battery, good sound quality. The clip on the back is handy. Has worked well for ~3 years, albeit with only intermittent use (a few hours per week).

Cons: Non-intuitive interface, though once you memorize a couple key press sequences it becomes usable. I do remember that when using the radio at one point I could only exit to the main menu by pressing the "home" button--the normal directional navigation arrows had no way to back out and you just had to exit to the top menu instead.

Other Thoughts: Overall, this player has been great. After ~3 years of intermittent use, the battery is probably at 75% of its original life. I bought a 32 GB microSD card and installed it with no problems, so I now have a 40 GB player.

5 out of 5 eggsGets the job done

Pros: Great little music player with expandable memory; perfect for the gym.

Cons: None that I can think of right now. If you want more features though, this isn't the player for you.

1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT WAST YOUR MONEY

Pros: small size

Cons: Short player life span, short battery life, player is easily broken / stops working by holding between fingers when changing settings. Overall poor design and cheap workmanship.

5 out of 5 eggsipod replacement

Pros: Drag and drop files to device without the need of itunes.
Battery life is good.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Replacing a IPOD Nano that stopped working after only 1 year, the classic on/off button failed as with so many other Nano's..
Did not install included software that came w/ was able to still add music to it.

4 out of 5 eggs8GB of compact for $65

Pros: Cheap, does what it says, does what I need it to do. Very small, light weight, has a clip.

Cons: Screen is a bit small, but I knew that before I bought it...but still.

Other Thoughts: I paid like $65. I think the price is fair for what it is. I had a 4GB Micro SD laying around so I stuck it in to this and now had 12GB/roughly 3,000 songs...which is plenty for me.

5 out of 5 eggsAMAZING little player

Pros: Simple Interface

VERY reliable

good battery life

great sound

Supplied ear buds are great. Not quite as good as some other, notorious brands, but very respectable, sound quality is impressive.

Custom software friendly (Even on Sandisk's official online forums)

Cons: Tiny (but not a con for me)

Default software requires you to install programs on your PC, The software is very minimally intrusive, but for a paranoid goofball like me, I didn't like it. I replaced the Clip+ software with RockBox (A very easy process). Rockbox is openly discussed on Sandisk's forums, Sandisk doesn't seem to mind if people replace the default software, so this aspect is actually a PRO.

Other Thoughts: Like i said above, the default software isn't great, but not terrible. I installed RockBox on the Clip+ and now this thing is PERFECT for audio playback.

It is also very durable and reliable. I had the Clip+ on my right leg driving my girlfriend's car and it slid off my leg, right INTO an open glass of soda. I bought a new one that evening because I knew I ruined it.

Well, no. Turns out that after rubbing it off with a bit of rubbing alcohol and letting it dry for a few days, the Clip+, now 8 months later, is still running perfectly. Now i have a spare, but i regret the purchase because I probably will never need it.

One final great part of the Clip+ is how open it is. I can drag and drop files off of it like it is a USB flash drive. Unlike some other, famous, brands, there are very few barriers to what you can do with this little guy.

I have owned a lot of little gadgets in my life, and I seriously cannot think of any other device I have bought that has made me so across the board, overall pleased with my purchase as the Sansa Clip+.

1 out of 5 eggsLoose Headphone Jack

Pros: It played and held music.

Cons: The audio cable jack doesn't lock in, so the audio will typically cut out when I drive over a bump, or when I drive on a dirt road. So I have to mess around with it to make the chord stay in, which is distracting when I'm driving.

Other Thoughts: On Smooth roads or on my person hooked up with headphones it worked normally mostly.

Manufacturer Response:

My name is Allen from SanDisk support. A brand new or lightly used Sansa MP3 player may have a very tight headphone jack when it leaves the factory. You have to apply approximately 7 pound of force to insert it all the way in. It will produce a audible click ensuring that the headphones are connected properly.

Please refer to the link below for the instructions on how to connect the headphones properly:
