1 out of 5 eggsDon't Buy This

Pros: It was dirt cheap when I got it, only $29.99

Cons: The audio plug in the unit is not soldered in correctly and the audio in the left ear of your headphones will go in and out depending upon how exactly you hold the device. This started happening about 1 month after the purchase so that I couldn't return it for a refund.

I thought that the problem might be with the headphones so I tried 3 different pairs, and the problem is not with the headphones but with the player itself. I am now almost 6 months into ownership of the product and while the device still works most of the time, it is getting harder and hard to orient the headphone wire so as to make the left ear play music, and I think it's about to fail completely.

Other Thoughts: I don't know the refurbished version of this product is the only one that's this way, or new ones as well, but I would not risk it. Sansa mp3 players are decent while they work, but even new ones only last you about a year. Now we know that when you pay half the price, your player will last half as long.

1 out of 5 eggsVery disappointed. Dead after several days.

Pros: small. good sound quality. easy to import mp3s.

Cons: poor quality for this one.

Other Thoughts: I had a couple of refurbished sansa clip players before. very satisfied with them so that I bought this one. However this one just died just after a several days. Need to replace it with newegg.com

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent MP3 player

Pros: Looks new, works like new, small, light, good battery life, good audio, Micro SD slot, runs Rockbox.

Cons: Sansa firmware.

Other Thoughts: I didn't like the firmware that it came with but Rockbox is easy to install and does everything.

5 out of 5 eggsWork fine

Pros: So far so good. Great price after rebate. Windows seven recognized it.
Does flac files. Small, but good sound.

Cons: Battery is non-replaceable. After it won't recharge the player is done!!

4 out of 5 eggsGood so far

Pros: Fantastic MP3 player. I'd take this over an ipod any day. Very low cost for what you get.

Size is perfect for running, not so small that its impossible to interface with, but not bulky at all.

Ease of use and organization of music is good, with many sorting options to choose from to find music.

Many additional features including voice recording/memos, Radio, equalizers/mixing, podcast/audiobook playback manipulation.

Built in codecs for ogg and flac, not something you see with many players.

Cons: Aside from this particular model being refurbished, I see no cons whatsoever with these players

Other Thoughts: This is my third clip+ (first refurb), other two are functioning perfectly but I find it useful to have several (One stays in my car, one for running, one for travel, etc.).

Everything worked fine out of box, the refurb came with a set of headphones (appear to be new) and a micro-usb cable, just as new.

The MP3 player itself appeared to be in new condition (no fingerprints or scratches), with everything working fine. Always nervous buying anything refurbished, we'll see if it lasts.

5 out of 5 eggsBought 2 and love them

Pros: I bought 2 of these a 2 or 3 years ago. My son's doesn't get a lot of use, but I'll wear mine while mowing along with hearing protection. Never had any problems with either, even with being refurbished. I'm into technology, so I replaced the firmware on mine with rockbox and it works great, too. If you look, you can find some silicone protective covers for real cheap. Even with it's age, I still have great battery life, probably 5 to 6 hours. I've set the display to time out quickly though, and it doesn't automatically display the next song when they change. That has helped a lot. It's only locked up a couple of times, and recovery is simple.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: It just works great! Fun experimenting with rockbox, too.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat MP3 Player

Pros: It worked great and it kept on going. I had a lock up now and then but very rarely. I just needed to hold the power button down and I would be back in business. I really enjoy the AudioBook speed modes so I can breeze through slow audio.

Cons: The battery worked as advertised but after about a year or so I noticed that it wasn't holding a charge as long but I'd still get 8-15 hours out of it depening on my volume level and what type of files I was listening too. Whish they had speed modes for PodCasts too.

Other Thoughts: As for the lock ups, I noticed a lot less after I upgraded the firmware. The biggest annoyance was using the Windows 7 media mode, had to turn that off. That wasn't the player's fault, I just didn't like how it worked.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Unit is small and easy to use for recorded books. The battery life is very good. I own 3 of these and have never had a problem that cannot be solved by going to the manufacturer's online manual. All in all I am very happy with the unit(s).

Cons: At times the unit turns off on it's own. However, the online user manual explains to hold the power button down for 30 seconds, release it, and then hold it down again until the unit powers on. This resets the player. You may not be returned to the same "page" to which you were listening when it powered down, but the "resume" place is usually fairly close.

1 out of 5 eggsGreat MP3 player if it works

Pros: When it works it is excellent. Great sound, features, size, clip feature

Cons: Worked for 3 days, then after 4 weeks of non use would not power up at all. Charging does not help. I was ready to send it back, pressed power button and it started up fine, showed low battery. Recharged nicely to full, but then after playing for 3 hrs was set aside overnight (made sure it was off) and failed to start up again.
