Pros: - extremely wide suite of features - new features added frequently - bugs caught and fixed often - browses folders - works on all OS's - high-end features and sound - several firmware series to use - great quality hardware - standard [USB] connecting cable
Cons: - initial firmwares of each series are often poor, or alpha-quality (often negative reviews of Cowon products are due to poor firmware, thus the same model often gets beaming reviews later on) - earphones have poor quality sound - harder to obtain State-side (thus less people you sample it with, or talk to about it, in person) - almost non-existant manual
Other Thoughts: - Try upgrading your firmware (D2+ currently has 2.x, 3.x, & 4.x firmwares, some only for certain markets) - buy new head/earphones (it's the earphones that are bad, not the player) ; even $30 can get you much better sound - I am pleased with my purchase

Pros: Awesome sound. Huge memory + SDHC flash capability. Audio formats galore. Many EQ tweaks. Good software. Video and stills. Radio. Textmode.
Cons: Very weak manual. Doesn't play mpeg. The menus are not very intuitive, and take about a day or more to master. Every time it starts up it rescans all memory and updates the database (this can take up to 3 minutes until it's ready to play).
Other Thoughts: This is my second D2+, had to reset the first one too often. I got it with the Fuji Labs FJ-IPOD-E3220 Pro Stereo Silicon Acoustic Earbuds, and they sound great. It's so easy to go through many earbuds until you find a pair that work well. Newegg was prompt (as always) with shipping and RMA. I got mine on sale, you can't beat a Newegg price (I think I'm the first one to say this). I would have bought an S9 if it had SDHC, but I'm very happy with this.

Pros: *Playlist contains data from both built in memory and SDHC card. *Excellent battery life *Decent amp section - can drive some of the more difficult headphone better than most MP3 out there.
Cons: *Not the best GUI, especially browsing.
Other Thoughts: I use this exclusively for FLAC and MP3 audio. No video nor picture use.

Pros: amazing format support. i have been searching for a player that supports flac for months now and i finally found the perfect fit.
expandable. with a 32gb SDHC card in there it surpasses basically any flash based player (with the exception of the new FOUR HUNDRED DOLLAR ipod touch)
small. amazing battery life (50+ hours D:). one of the most powerful headphone amplifiers i have ever experienced.
Cons: does not support AAC (wait... is that a con?) (i guess it is, this might throw off avid ipod/itunes users. AAC is the default encoding for itunes and for ipods and while it is a bit more powerful than mp3 i am still not missing it)
Other Thoughts: this thing is the ultimate value. it does anything and everything. just buy it already.
