Pros: Fine until it breaks
Cons: Archos makes interesting and innovative products but does a very poor job in supporting them. They do seem to break easier than they should and then the company does what they can to not fix their product. The player just refused to boot one day and was RMA'd. They are slow to start working on the return and try to say that it wasn't the product's fault. I didn't pay this kind of money expecting this kind of hassle.
Other Thoughts: I will not buy another Archos product and will recommend the same to others.

Pros: Plays almost any video codec i toss at it right out of the box enables you to buy codecs that it doesn't come with Touch screen is flawless big screen size
Cons: the power button broke almost immediately caused device to fail the function
it has a lot of built in self advertising for add ons and game packs and stuff
wants you to buy a dock station for faster charging
Other Thoughts: I bought this because i am a soldier in Afghanistan and i wanted to take my movies anywhere with me this is a great player if you are able to treat it very delicately. if it wasnt to fragile and easy 4 egg review

Cons: Two units out of the box were defective and support is non-existing. All the bad press on Archos is TRUE. They should not be in business with this kind of support/quality.

Pros: The Archos has many different functions, all of which are nicely packaged into one "player", which is what I was looking for when I decided to replace my old MP3 player.
Cons: After 2-3 weeks of ownership, the player started rebooting on it's own. Then would freeze and have to be rebooted. The final straw was the power button stopped working and would be extremely difficult to turn on and off. Due to the overall frustration, I have since scapped this player and replaced with another brand. BTW . . . unable to RMA or return due to being in Iraq and shipped to an APO address.
Other Thoughts: After initial purchase, I was very excited about all the functions and features available thru the Archos 5. However, the glitz and glam was only "skin deep" and the overall functionality and reliability didn't meet up to the billing given.

Pros: This thing has so many pros! dont listen to those tards saying it doesnt have shuffle because it absolutely does. you just go to music setting and then shuffle and choose folder or all. the bigest thing is the internet is as fast as my laptop. it plays hi def movies and it is just generaly awesome
Cons: restarts sometimes(seldomly) battery life is average but not a huge deal ill admit it is kinda anoying at times when you want to play something and you have to buy the plugin for it. but this things plays any file type you can throw at it.
Other Thoughts: i would say buy it! neweggs customer service is unmatched!
