ARCHOS 24b Vision 2.4" 4 GB MP3 Player w/ FM Radio - Black (501720)

Pros: I was surprised by the strength of the FM signal and also the camera. It took ok pictures for such a small device. The way it is setup takes a little while to figure it out but, once you get past that it is simple to use.

Cons: It doesn't come with a lot of information. I don't know how to advance within a large mp3 file such as an audio book to skip and go back. Once you shut the device off it goes back to start over. The biggest disappointment is that it doesn't have a broadcast app on it so you have to tether it your audio source via headphone jack.

Pros: -Plays every file type I need it to.
-Cost was low.
-Everything was EXACTLY as was advertised. Thank you Newegg for once again actually listing the specs most companies would be afraid to. (such as the low battery life during active use)
-Audio quality was excellent. Its actually on-par with my desktop computer I built using parts bought from newegg, that's being used as my gaming rig.
-Small, compact player that plays videos and the works, so I can store it in my pocket if I have to, yet very capable. USUALLY runs lag-free as well.

Cons: *Battery life.
*Very small screen might be a problem for some people.
*No expansion card potential.
~You can tell the very first time you press a button that the buttons were designed very cheaply.
~Lags occasionally, but that seems to be fairly rare.

*For the star marked cons, newegg was kind enough to actually list this product accurately and actually tell us about this, so this isn't really a con worth taking an egg off, thus why the 5 eggs. You got what you were told you'd get, if you don't like it, then don't buy it.

~For the cons marked with this icon; you get what you pay for. It was terribly cheap. You cant honesty expect very sturdy construction when your buying a normally-expensive device for practically dirt cheap. You also cannot expect super fast performance when loading menu's and messing with the position slide bar on a video. So remember, this is a cheaper end device, and you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: This is an incredibly cheap device for what your getting. even with the kinda cheaper construction and slight lag, they could easily have charged us more. I love this little device. I might not be able to use an expansion card on it, and I might have to be careful with it to make sure the buttons don't get bumped into by anything, due to the cheap construction, but that's not a very hard thing to prevent, so I do not consider it much of a con. This device has served me well and continues to do so to this day.

I hope others who consider this device find it as satisfactory as I have.
