Pros: everything about it still amazes me after owning one for a couple months now. the OLED screen still works perfectly, the 8-core processor is still running smooth, and to top it off, no scratches on the screen (which is amazing, since i take it with me just about everywhere). very satisfied with my purchase, and considering getting another to haul around my movies instead of just music
Cons: none. zip. nada
Other Thoughts: when playing around with the apps, the gyro-stability takes a while to get used to, so don't expect it to be pick-up-and-beat-very-hard-on-the-first-try kind of things like the iPhone apps.
speaking of which, AUDIOSURF IS AN APP. my life is now complete (if you don't know what it is, try it out. most amazing music game in existance)

Pros: This device is a really neat piece of work! I use it every day at work to listen to music and podcasts and the sound quality (when matched with a good pair of headphones) is great! They just came out with some new games which is nice for when I'm at school waiting for class Video looks very nice on the device and the battery life when playing video/games is pretty good.
Cons: Wireless internet paired with video/games sucks up battery pretty quickly, but it's still pretty phenominal. Lag issues sometimes when seeking through videos or playing some games.
Other Thoughts: I am not regretting choosing this over the fruit product

Pros: First, let me say I do not want to compare this to an iPod touch or iPhone in any way.
As a portable media player, this is a fantastic device. For the price, you get a very sleek, stylish and polished device with excellent sound quality and a beautiful screen. The UI is impressive is by far the best PMP GUI I have ever used. Much easier to navigate even with fat fingers.
Music: This is well organized and probably most unique of all. As opposed to simply putting your music in a list by artist, album and such the Zune HD has a sort of music networking thing going on. You can find similar artists, artist discography, pictures and artist bio all from a single artist page under different tabs. as long as you're within a wifi connection there are also pictures for each item to match. Very useful for finding new music.
Videos, pictures, and radio are just like Zune 80s except with more fluent touch controls. Much better!
Web browser is excellent for this device with WiFi.
Cons: Well all of the cons are really minor, but it's worth pointing out.
First and foremost. The supplied headphones with the Zune HD are NOT the Zune premium headphones found in earlier Zune models. I suggest throwing the Zune HD headphones out and buying the Premium ones from your favorite internet auction site for under 20 washingtons. (Yes, Buy it Now and Yes, they're new!)
By default, the screen's brightness is set to "Mid". I would turn it to bright right off the bat, Doesn't seem to effect battery life. You'll also notice when the brightness is set to mid that if you're doing a lot at once there seems to be a strange flicker on bright screens. this is common between players, but only noticeable on white screens. may be a firmware fix down the road as it appears to deal with power consumption.
Also, the Zune HD appears to work fine for syncing as the Zune classic's Charge Dock however it feels wobbly without an insert. Speaker docks don't have the same compatibility though..
Other Thoughts: This is a Pro, I just didn't have space: The battery life on this device is astounding as posted in the specs. I can't guarantee real life consumption matching the "Ideal" specs, but today alone on a full charge I watched 2 movies and listened to about 4 hours of music while away from home and I still have 50% battery. Cool considering ideal music listening battery life is calculated with the screen turned off and i kept changing songs.
I know that apps aren't a big deal for me. if they are for you then maybe you should look elsewhere. I don't need to do much with my media player, but as a media player this device does more than I would have expected, and the music networking and video quality set a new bar for my PMP standards.
I would have purchased this device from newegg had I known the price would have dropped two days after ordering it directly from the Zune Originals website. I had to have a custom inscription though...

Pros: I bought this after my ipod touch was stolen. I loved my ipod touch so much so to get this was a huge step, however, i was so happy that i did. Some how the sound quality from music play back is so much more crisp and clearer than then the ipod. The picture quality was also alot more HD. . really no comparison. The HD Radio is pretty cool too, which you really dont notice how much you would use until you try it. The internet is also quicker which is nice when your chillin on the beach downloading music on your zune.
Cons: There are applications for the Zune however, there arnt as many as the ipod. This kinda stinks but after a month or so ipod apps start to get boring. It also was anoying at first to know i wasnt going to be able to use itunes with the zune but after trying the zune software its so much better and easier for organizing and getting all your artist and album covers to work if you download them off limewire or something unlike itunes.
Other Thoughts: Microsoft Please come out with more c rap for my zune HD like a better car radio hook up. Ill be waiting
