3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: much less of a hassle to put music on it than a certain popular iBrand
I thought the sound quality was pretty bad but my brother said it was fine for him

Cons: It stopped working after 4 months

Other Thoughts: I got it on sale for really cheap, so when it stopped working I got something else that would work more reliably and didn't care about this one.

5 out of 5 eggsCheap and Cheerful

Pros: Compact, Good Quality materials, sound quality is as good as the format you're using.

Cons: The battery case feels like it might break within 5 years. But for the price, and 4gB of storage, who cares.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to use linked to my car, works perfect. Small enough that I can take it when I get out of the car. Not out of fear for losing a cheap mp3 player, but fear for losing music.

5 out of 5 eggsganymede

Pros: Cheap and uses AAA batteries. I have 8 rechargeable AAA's and prefer to have an easily replaceable battery. The problem with the higher end mp3 players is they become garbage after a year or two when their built-in battery fades. 4 gigs of memory means you can also use this as a decent flash drive. Backlight comes on when button pressed. Extremely small footprint, can carry in front shirt pocket.

Cons: Primitive navigation, limited space on LCD screen. Sound quality is acceptable. I didn't have big expectations.

Other Thoughts: For twenty-odd bucks, this is a good deal, a great workout mp3 player for joggers and walkers. Other mp3 players are garbage with a clock ticking, waiting for their non-replaceable battery to die.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: it works

Cons: this thing is total garbage, bad sound quality and i dropped it TWICE when running and it just died on me and never worked again. Also cheap material, feels like it's going to break on you in an instant. Not good, not even for a simple workout mp3 player.

Pros: great deal for the price you are getting what you pay for

4gb is a decent amt of memory for the price

Cons: is a cheap mp3 player so its a pain to go thru the menus but i didnt expect more it was like 20 bucks

and the loudness with the ear buds isnt that great
but im using it for my car so its not a problem for me anyway

Other Thoughts: works like i should and im happy for the price

5 out of 5 eggsIts a winner

Pros: Great price
Very good sound for price
Works as advertised

Cons: Small display

Other Thoughts: I loaded this one up with two levels of directories and 1425 WMAs. I just used the normal explorer software to transfer the files from my notebook. Sound is very good for an inexpensive player. I had no trouble using the buttons once I found out that it normally locks after a delay between uses and you have hit a button to unlock the buttons before proceeding. It also takes a little bit to figure out how to use the folder mode. When you enter the folder mode, it does not display the directory tree as the manual says. It displays the title of the last song played. You the have to go up, or down, until you get to a folder icon. The icon is a folder with an up or down arrow in it. At this point, pressing the >= (play) button will bring up the directory tree.

The only real con that I have found is that the display is hard to read because it is so small, however it does have a surprising amount of information on it.

I highly recommend this product.

2 out of 5 eggsMeh. Not so good.

Pros: Small, cheap.

Cons: Very difficult menuing system. Downloads in random order and then also shows in random order. So if you are fond of your album playing songs in the order you listen to them elsewhere, too bad. In order for the download in the album folder to be in numbered track order you have to download one at a time. NOT useful when you are trying to move 400 songs. Tiny little buttons that you have to push a BUNCH of times to find yer blasted song eventually fails pretty quickly. If you like all your music played in random order, this player is fine. If you'd rather your classical not play in between your reggae then buy at least two of these things to sort it all out.

Other Thoughts: I wouldn't buy again but oddly, feel like I got my money's worth.

1 out of 5 eggsOverpriced memory stick

Pros: Lightweight, compact, easy access to controls

Cons: Does not play

Other Thoughts: Thin cheap plastic housing - the unit comes on and will not go passed display of COBY on the screen. It still operates as a flash drive and can be used to store files when connected to a PC, but the 'player' function of this is not operating. Manufacturer web site does not respond to inquiries, nor does it provide documentation on their site (only specs and a photo). I could crush this thing with my bare hand.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat MP3 Player For The Money

Pros: First of all, I love how it takes AAA batteries and you don't need to wait to charge it on a USB port on the computer. The looks are great and is very compact. The price is great for what you are buying. I have been listening to music for a week now and still on the same battery! When I listen to tunes on a MP3 player, I crank the volume to the max. The little MP3 player is still pumping out energy from the high draining use that I put it through. I bought the regular alkaline Duracell AAA's and I am truly amazed.

Cons: The USB adapter that plugs into the base of the player seems like it would be a weak spot and break off. I have had no problems with it yet and just because it seems like a potential hazard to me, don't mean it is a weak spot at all. Maybe the R&D guys who designed it; know something that I don't about how they made that part.

One more con... not really a con but more of a personal opinion. I have about 3 gigs of tunes in there so far. When I go through my folders to find what album I want to listen to, the folders show up as individual songs and I have to go through EACH INDIVIDUAL song to get to my album. Thats kind of a blemish, I would of thought you could go through each album seperatley instead of going through the songs one by one.

Other Thoughts: All in all, great little player. Would definitely but another one. The only complaint I really had was trying to find the albums. When you receive the product, there are windows exe files already on the USB adapter. I use Linux (Ubuntu Lucid), so maybe I am not getting all the features, but it works fine. I do a lot of Skateboarding and BMX, so I like to listen to certain songs when riding... its more of a personal complaint then a bad product complaint and so I still give it 5 eggs.
