4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: i bought this last year with the intentions to use it while exercising and so far its done exactly that. i plug it in to my computer drop in the music i want and hit play simple as that. dont expect an ipod. its a basic mp3 player that works. i like it. great for kids without high expectations.

Cons: touch screen would be nice.. lol

5 out of 5 eggsNice Unit

Pros: Basic mp3 player, just drag and drop your files and you are good to go. 1 battery lasts for a while I like that I do not have to deal with recharging

Cons: No cons for an inexpensive mp3 this is not an Ipod you get what you pay for...if you want to drag drop your old mp3 into a portable unit this is for you.

Other Thoughts: I use this in the gym fits in my pocket very light. The price is awesome!

3 out of 5 eggsIts a 2 gb MP3 player

Pros: For starters this is a very cheap unit. Uses 1 AAA battery, which is nice, instead of always having to constantly recharge. Navigation of songs and CDs is fairly uncomplicated. Backlight works great and easy to read display. Worked right of the box.

Cons: Took nearly 4 hours to download 2 GB of data. Manual says USB 2.0 but I have had faster downloads over a 56k modem; this is listed in error. The buttons sometimes stick and causes you to occasionally over shoot the track or folder your looking for. Sound quality is poor, Im not sure if its the cheap earbuds or the unit itself. Did I mention it took 4+ hours to download 2GB of songs?!?!?!

Other Thoughts: Bought this for my wife because we lost our old Sony 2gb walkman, and needed a cheap replacement. My wife is very low tech and the Sony was a little complicated for her and she didnt use all the extra features Sony included. With this mp3 player all she has to do is push play. Folder/song navigation is a bit tedious to work with. Buying a better set of J2 earbuds and see if sound quality improves. Overall you get what you pay for, you buy a cheap product, you get cheap product.

4 out of 5 eggsIt worked after I put on my glasses

Pros: Cheap, arrived fast and works on rechargeable AAA batteries, lightweight, good volume, simple control once I learnt to push the menu button. Works with the Philips wraparound headsets I prefer. Happy camper here, using it to edit an audio book.

Cons: Hard-to-open package, would not play till I read the microscopic print and tried the menu button which activated the folder containing the mp3s. No attached plug, so you have to use a cable, and the string that lets you secure it comes attached to the earbuds, so I had to break it off.

Other Thoughts: Overall good bang to buck ratio and I want to buy more of these as presents for relatives, especially if shipping can be combined. At this price I am seriously considering selling audiobooks already recorded on the players--in addition to downloads, CDs and SD cards.

1 out of 5 eggsannoying interface

Pros: small, cheap

Cons: interface is terrible. has this little lever to go forward or backward in the playlist, instead of just a button. and its also laggy, so to go forward like 5 songs takes too long. i broke mine by formatting it through windows somehow. well at least its over now.

Other Thoughts: I bought this at a B&M store for $10-15 because I needed something to listen to mp3's and ebooks while doing this data entry job. It served its purpose OK.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for the Price

Pros: Cheap

Plug-n-Play- No drivers or other software needed to transfer files. (Win 98 requires USB Driver.)

Decent sound quality.

You can browse the folders directly on the player.

Cons: Can't browse folders while music is playing- have to pause first.

Folders and Files are listed in the order they were transferred.

No way to sort music by artist, album, genre, etc.

Random play mode only uses current folder.

Slow transfer speeds. It's a USB 2.0 device but it doesn't get anywhere close to 2.0 speeds.

Other Thoughts: This is a good player for $20.00. It's essentially a 2GB Flash drive with a built-in mp3 player. My XP and Win 7 systems recognized it immediately as a removable flash drive (usb 2.0 HS). Just drag and drop folders and files. File transfers are slow, however. Seems more like USB 1.0.

I use mp3tag, which by default saved the tags as ID3v2.3 UTF-16- they did not display correctly on the player. ID3v2.4 UTF-8 is compatible with the player.

mp3tag : Tools > Options > Tags > Mpeg > ID3v2.4 UTF-8

1 out of 5 eggsGarbage - stay away

Pros: None - there is nothing good about ths piece of junk
It doesn't rate even the one egg I gave it - but you have to give it something to submit a review - this is pure Chinese junk.

Cons: First off, a brand new unit did not work. The buttons used to navigate the menus did not navigate diddly - no way to even play your music. 2nd - the menu is so small and unreadable, you need a magnifying glass to make out what you're looking at. Next - the backlght feature illuminates for about 2 seconds - without the backlight, you can't read it. 3rd - it took almost as long to load a song as it does to play the thing - loading about 8 albums took over 3 hours - and then, I couldn't get the piece of junk to navigate to a menu to play what loaded. 4th - it didn't read the ID3 tags correctly so even if it did work, I couldn't determine one artist from the other - even though I loaded each artist in their own folder, it listed all the songs by name, not by artist - it you want to listen to a specific artist, you'd have to scroll through all the tracks and listen to them one at a time - if it did work, but it didn't - so, it's a moot point.

Other Thoughts: Read the 'standard return policy' before you buy.
