1 out of 5 eggsAudiophile and experienced user's dream machine!!

Pros: I have owned this player for over two years now. And have had NO serious problems that I wasn't able to fix. Its great in its simplicity. Just drag and drop with USB MSC. No stupid wizards!!! I freaking hate wizards.
touch screen is very responsive and makes a nice clicking sound when you use it.
create playlists on the fly
Plays video fine (see cons). And has a million EQ options.
Very decent battery life
pleasing form factor small enough to jog with.

Cons: Fingerprint magnet.
First couple gens of firmware were horrible. The New one is a big improvement. Popping noises mentioned by others went away.
-controls are counter intuitive at first
-I wish they would let you play by genre but it does support playlists.
-as for video play the Meizu software is subpar. But there are plenty of utils you can find online that will do the job better. Just use a video analyser program on one of Meizu's stock videos and then match the settings with a converter program.

Other Thoughts: There are some really nice accessories for this model such as a clear plastic case, a silicone jogging case, A/c and car adapters and even an external battery.

There are many great support sites for this device with Meizu employees that participate in the forums.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Sounding

Pros: the sound on this is amazing, full EQ with extra SRS enhancements makes even the cheap lil headphones thump and sound full and clear. great clarity, touchpad makes control smooth and easy. the LCD screen is very bright and vibrant colors.. just compared with new 16.7 mill color screen mp3, different maker.. and this screen was waaaaaaay better with "only" 260k color.. so far this is the best sounding and cheapest mp3, but made with quality. i have owned for almost a year, and use everyday

Cons: some issues with mostly older avi's after conversion not working or acting funny.. plays 90 percent of avi's beautifully and very bright and easy to see (only 20fps, but most files are only 23 or 24 fps anyways, so looks fine, slight chop in heavy action).. might need to use another converter program, although the stock one works fine for me.

Other Thoughts: compared side by side with newer Creat###e Z#n, and the quality is far superior.. better controls, waaay better sound, and even though screen has fewer colors, waaay brighter and more vivid..i have to stress this cause i analyzed the heck out of it, and was sad to see the newer one get trounced by my beautiful meizu miniplayer that i have come to love... :-)

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Small, good size screen and memory for the price. Drag and drop to put music on it, no need to hassle with special software. Good audio quality, with better bass then I expected.

Cons: Upgrading the firmware was a pain. Before I upgraded I noticed the skipping at the end of songs, and after it still does it. On the forums it seems to be just songs gotten via p2p, or basically mp3s. Don't expect to get any tech support other then the nice people on the forum.

Other Thoughts: All things considered I'm glad I got it

4 out of 5 eggsImpressive player with some flaws

Pros: Beautiful appearance, easy-to-use interface, plenty of options, nice earbuds, small size, price.

Cons: Two issues that cannot be overlooked: skipping at the end of some songs, and, at times, a deafening noise that occurs in between some songs. In all cases, it seems to depend on the song being played. After updating the firmware, this doesn't seem to happen, but it could just be a coincidence.

Other Thoughts: While it is most inconvenient to have to deal with the skipping/noise problem (deleting/re-encoding some songs), the pros of the product outweigh the cons.

An additional thought: if you have trouble using the converter, just use virtualdub, save processing settings like the ones the converter uses, and you should be good to go.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Little Player

Pros: Great Price Value, Excellent sound and decent video quality with tons of battery life. Supports a lot of extra features (a few games, many formats, radio, etc.) and pretty light and cool-looking without being too tiny or flimsy

Apparently very durable, mine suffered a 5 foot drop onto hard concrete and came out working 99% (the "clicking" sound broke) with a small dent and one corner where the metal and plastic kind of separated a bit... still no problems 2 months after the drop

Cons: random stuttering at the end of some songs, firmware not perfectly smooth and doesn't show all my album art for some reason

Other Thoughts: for those of you having problems with freezing, HARD RESET is done by holding the "enter" button for about 10 seconds as opposed to waiting for its great battery life to drain

I would actually recommend reading the (somewhat blandly translated from chinese) manual for this product

also batman makes video converting much easier

5 out of 5 eggsDON'T USE FIRMWARE S2004.3 FIRMWARE

Pros: The Player. Older firmware update S2.003.2 works. No lockups. go here http://en.meizu.com/down_x.asp?MZ_ID=129&Type=2.

Cons: The firmware S2004.3 does not work. Check to see if you have this, if you do, change it.

Other Thoughts: I have had this product for a couple of months now. When i first got the player i upgraded the firmware to S2004.3. That's when it started locking up. I went to a older firmware update S2.003.2 . No problems there. I couldn't comment on the newest firmware S2004.6 since my player is working fine with the current one.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little player.

Pros: Good build quality.
Great audio format support (Vorbis and FLAC).
Nice, intuitive interface.
Very good display.
Great value.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: NewEgg could improve their product packaging when shipping. All the "stuff" in the shipping box was on top of the player, nothing below it or on sides.

4 out of 5 eggsTerrific Little player

Pros: Good Battery Life, Awesome output when pair with Sennheiser HD465 cans.

Cons: Bass is a little too overdone even in the default setting. Some might like that but it rocks my ear. I have waited for two months and the rebate has yet to come......where is my rebate Meizu?

Other Thoughts: Very please with the product and it trumps my Cre^^^^^ Z** MP3 player in terms of sound quality and clarity. Would buy it again.
