4 out of 5 eggsOk bluetooth

Pros: Works Good.
Decent sound.

Cons: Battery life is not all it is suppose to be. does get up to 18 hours unless you turn it off. it will probably give you about 8 hours with the battery in standby, 4 hours in use, unlimited plugged in.

Other Thoughts: this is one of the best I've ever owned, but I can't say I was super disappointed when I wasn't able to get the 18 hrs of single use before a recharge out of it .

5 out of 5 eggsThe Best Bluetooth Speaker Out There!

Pros: *Extremely long battery life.

*Excellent range between mids and lows.

*Crystal clear highs.

*Perfect speaker phone tone.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: I took the GroovyW camping and it was used almost continuous from Friday at 3pm to Sunday at 2pm.

During the weekend:

*The volume was turned up all the way on the GroovyW and we controlled volume via the controls on my phone or the iPod.

*We used a mix of audio apps ranging from the Groovy Audio Center to Google Music with cached songs ranging from Charlie Parker and Frank Sinatra to Janis Joplin and Led Zeppelin to Kidney Thieves and Information Society.

*The Equalizer was always set for “Rock” and the Bass Boost was at 50% to 75% the entire time.

*We used the Charging Station to charge two phones from 50% to full.

*We used the Charging Station to charge the GroovyW from 2 bars to full. Twice.

5 out of 5 eggsGood sound quality for Bluetooth

Pros: Sound is loud enough to use in a car with the windows down and still hear it cleanly without maxing the volume on my tablet.

So far every device I have tried connecting via bluetooth has worked easily.

It pairs with my tablet almost immediately when I turn it on. Assuming my tablet is not completely shutdown.

Despite being black, this item still looks new after a month or so of use! Most black electronics seem to attract dust and fingerprints. For whatever reason despite being tossed in my laptop bag to be transferred between home, car and office the speaker is still in pristine condition!

The listed battery life seems a little short compared to what I actually have been getting. However, I have not tried running it continuously at full power either.

Recharges through a microUSB cable so no need to find a proprietary connector device to hardwire it.The package also includes a pigtail USB cable so you can recharge your speaker and your mobile device at the same time.

Cons: Here are some negatives as I am a very critical person.

Everytime I turn it on it calls me a Bluetooth 'has been' on. Oh yeah speaker? Its better to be a has been than a never was!

I thought the device had a slightly muffled sound at first, until I realized I was facing it backwards. The Sound is good enough from behind the device, that I did not notice at first. PEBKAC error, no minus egg for this

It includes a separate extended battery/charging station that I have only needed once in a month of daily use. Complaining about extra stuff? No minus egg for this

I did not try syncing (weird I have always spelled it synching) my phone to it, but let my daughter sync hers to play some of her music. Then I promptly called her phone to test the call quality (and interrupt her music). She could hear me, but I could not hear her. I have not tried to figure out why, whether it was the speaker, her phone, her phone carrier, or the fact that I had not taken the piece of plastic off the top yet. No minus egg for this.

Bluetooth 4.0 summons tiny extraterrestrials that feed on cerebral fluid to take host inside human skulls. The product should come with a tinfoil hat, instead of selling them separately. This is not common knowledge so I will not remove an egg for this.

Other Thoughts: If you do not have a bluetooth stereo in your car already, this is a much better solution. Unless your head unit is portable, has built in speakers and contains a 10+ hour battery built in that is.

It won't make you look foolish driving down the street with your license plate rattling either.

The GroovyW fits nicely in the area between: I am too lazy to carry around a full bluetooth or apple connected boom box, and a small ultra-portable speaker that sounds terrible but fits in your pocket.

Still not sure what Qi enabled phone I am going to purchase yet.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat at the beach or anywhere!

Pros: If you are looking for a speaker that charges your device at the same time and more, then I would highly recommend this for anyone.

- Easy to use controls
- Battery life lasts forever
- Great price for the features
- Wireless Charging for your phone or extending battery life

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have been using this speaker all around the house and it is fantastic! I just got back from the beach with it over the weekend and is why I jumped to write my review. The GroovyW was the talk of day with our friends. We talked all day about how nice it is to have music at the beach and it also charged my phone and my friends.

The one thing I always run into when I go to the beach is a dead battery. This speaker played music all day long without any issue and charged my phone at the same time. There is also the wireless charger which you can use to boost the battery life or in our case, charge my friends phone while we relaxed on the beach.

A couple things to point out, you need to turn the power on for the battery pack (bottom part) before you can use the wireless charging which I liked. Also, make sure your phone supports the Qi whatever before you try to use it or get the optional receiver like I did before you do so the wireless charging will work. Have not seen this on any other speaker!

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Speaker for the Price!

Pros: Clear highs and mids
Wirelessly charges (as long as you have the Qi receiver installed on your device)
Clear battery level indicator

Cons: Bass present, but not bone rumbling strong

Other Thoughts: When I buy a product, I look mainly for what it's built for, not for its bells and whistles so sound and portability is what I'll focus on.

I searched around for a portable speaker that had strong battery life and sounded good. Most of all, I needed one that could be loud when I needed it to be loud like BBQ's at the park. And I needed it to sound good when I casually use it in my apartment - read not sound like a tin can. At a Big Box store, I tested all the speakers and ended up narrowing my search down to the Bose Soundlink Mini and UE Boom. Further searching led me to the intriguing specs of the GroovyW and I took a leap of faith. So I took a test-drive of all 3. I tested with a wide genre of music: dubstep, Coltrane and Davis (jazz), Audioslave (rock), and John Legend (R&B).

Sounlink Mini: I liked its bass response, but as many others can attest, it's too quiet. Sure you'll have a good portable speaker you can move around the apartment, but will you be able to entertain your friends when you're out at the beach or the park? Probably not. In addition, I didn't like that I'd have to bring an extra 12V AC adapter any time that I wanted to bring the Mini with me.

UE Boom: This speaker made a run for the money. Although I got this at a discount, there were a few gripes that I could not get over with this device. No doubt about it, I was sure that it could take a beating by whatever weather you throw at it. And, man, this thing could get LOUD! But was the sound good? Highs and mids were good, but bass was barely there. I could barely make out the bass in So What, let alone the drops in any of the dubstep tracks. For the cost at $175 or MSRP $200, I could not justify keeping it.

GroovyW: The dark horse of the group. Undoubtedly, it's cheaper than the other two by $80 and checks most of the boxes I required of the portable speakers I sought and then some. The GroovyW gets much louder than the Mini and it includes NFC, speakerphone, wireless charging capabilities, and mini USB charging capabilities that are all missing from the Mini. I have yet to test the maximum claimed battery life, but with the included external battery I assume it will last far longer than the Mini and match if not exceed the battery life of the Boom. Ah the sound, I could clearly hear the vocals and instrumentals of All of Me and the bass in Davis's So What was quite clear, but bass in EDM or dubstep tracks is not at the level I would like. Considering how small this device is and the cost, I'm very happy with my purchase. Just make sure that you actually have a qi receiver (not included) installed on your phone (Galaxy S4 for me)/device to be able to use the wireless charging function.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: works blluetooth, sounds ok

Cons: doesn't charge the battery, which is why I really bought it. I've got HK stereo on my laptop so I don't really need the stereo. I wanted the inductive charging and it DOES NOT charge inductively. Did I misunderstand this product advertising? Did the marketeers strike again? I'm too busy right now to return or seek out a complaint. But since you asked, you receceived.
