5 out of 5 eggsSmall Speaker - Large Sound

Pros: This is yet another example of why I love JBL. I use this primarily for my iphones to play music or use as a speaker while watching a movie. Sound quality is superb, especially given its size. It comes with a very nice decent quality felt bag to protect the speaker during transport. I recommend this anyone desiring extra sound from their mobile device. The speaker has a nice volume control on the unit itself which can be useful. It is made well and seems quite durable in nature. I am quite impressed overall.

Cons: The only negative I can point to would be the legnth of the 1/4" male npt cord. The cord attached to the unit is rather small and makes placement difficult. To counter this issue I use a small extension cable. Easy enough fix in my mind and therefore I would still recommend this speaker to anyone.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than I expected

Pros: Amazing sound for such a small speaker.
Charge cable can also connect to your sound source
Sturdy construction
Simple controls
Easy on/off switch
Volume wheel

Cons: Speaker is not as well protected as some others

Other Thoughts: Do not expect miracles and I only paid half price, but I felt it worked much better than many others in this category of speaker.

4 out of 5 eggsJBL is unrivaled

Pros: I'm a musician with fastidious, near audiophile, tastes. I'm constantly in search of a truly portable, convenient and practical BT speaker that will accurately represent bass, mid-range and treble. This isn't it, but it's closer than other small, wired speakers, and the design is better than all of the cute "balls," squares and "cubes," and jawboned rough angles. And unlike my speakers that are BT and named after a famous musicians' patch cord maker, these will not distort at maximum gain.

Cons: JBL still has not taken ownership over the peerless 4 speaker disc-shaped BT portable it designed for Motorola. Since the EQ7 is discontinued, I'm waiting for the same singular quality in a JBL cabinet.

Other Thoughts: Don't kid yourself, or believe the hyperboles about any comparablly sized speaker putting out "incredible" bass. If you're a bass player, you won't know whether to cry or laugh when you put such claims to the test. But in the portable models with 4 JBL transducers (Motorola EQ7), there actually is bass in a palm-sized, flight-bag unit. It's discontinued. So where's Harman Industries? Waiting for a buy-out offer from Apple?

4 out of 5 eggsImpressive sound

Pros: I bought this speaker and the Kinivo ZX100 for a holiday party that I didnt want to use wires and rechargable batteries to power. This speaker can fit in the palm of my hand and with the rechargeable internal battery, it works well. It has some decent highs and impressive clarity when at its highest volume. It looks nice and seems to hold a charge very well. With the little carrying bag and price tag, it was a good buy. I have other JBL speakers that have held up over the years, and I expect this to do the same.

Cons: Short aux cable, not as loud at its highest as I would like. Only comes in the red with the sale price.

Other Thoughts: Compared to the Kinivo ZX100, the volume of this JBL doesnt get as high. However the JBL has a bit more clarity all the way through and has an easier volume knob compared to the Kinivo, which has buttons on its mini legs which can be difficult to push down. Overall, this JBL is the better option, but if not on sale, I would have stayed with the Kinivo as it looks just as good, but with a little less performance.
