3 out of 5 eggsMediocre Sound

Pros: Very compact size about the size of a pack long cigarrettes
Built-in battery Amplification.
Cover converts to stand
Short Audio input cord attached

Cons: Sound is mediocre. Only slightly better than the sound you would get from cranking up a pair of large driver headphones. ALL hollow midrange with no bass or high end. Fine for audio books but barely passable for music.
No battery gauge..just a red light so no way of knowing how long you have left.
Too short audio in cord

Other Thoughts: For under 10 bucks they may come in handy. If I had paid anything close to original listed price I would of felt ripped off

5 out of 5 eggsBest Small Stereo Speaker I've seen

Pros: This is the perfect travel companion. It's extremely
compact and includes a stand and integrated 3.5mm cable. It's great for vacation pool side and hotel room. The most attractive feature is that it will function even when the batteries are dead.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I picked it up for dirt cheap; I wouldn't have considered it for the MSRP until actually having seen it.

3 out of 5 eggsAcceptable, but not exceptional

Pros: Small, functional & cheap. I bought on sale for $7. Good enough to use in a quiet hotel room if you want to avoid headphones. Don't spend more than $10!

Cons: Sound quality is similar to transistor radio I had ~1962. Fine for audiobooks, but poor for music. Signal quality without batteries seems to vary with power level of sound source. With SanDisk e200 series, signal was broken & scratchy. With Zune, signal was adequate. Volume for both was minimal without batteries. With batteries, signal was solid, but volume still very limited.

Other Thoughts: There is a combination cover/stand made from lightweight plastic. Part of it is hinged to provide upright support in a standing position. However the hinge is merely a stip of extremely lightweight plastic. Fresh out of the box, it remains springy enough to constantly push the speakers forward, toppling them onto their face. I suspect that enough flexing through use will reduce this spring action. However, that same flexing will probably wear the plastic hinge near its breaking point.

4 out of 5 eggsGood for the price I paid

Pros: Small - just a bit larger than my iPod Classic 120Gb with a hard case.
You can easily carry it in a pocket or backpack pocket.
Good sound in active mode - requires 2 AAA batteries (I use rechargable Duracell)
Has a cover over the speakers when not in use that acts as a stand when in use. The cover/stand can be removed if you want.

Cons: Sound is not that great without the batteries, but at least you CAN use it without batteries.
Would have been nice if you had the option to power it from a USB cable - At the full retail price I would expect it to, but I got it 80% off.

Other Thoughts: In conclusion I'm happy I got this under $10 with tax and shipping. I should have gotten a second one at that price. At full or even near full price it is not worth it.

4 stars at 10, 1 star at full price.

4 out of 5 eggsSounds Good for Size

Pros: Good sound for the size. Best when used in active mode. For $8.00 it's a decent buy. I don't know about the $40 regular price however. Nice toy.

Cons: Never would be worth $40! For big sound, buy bigger speakers. would not be worth more than $8.

4 out of 5 eggsGood for the Price if you are able to use 2 AAA Batteries

Pros: Light Weight and cheap price.

Cons: When you connect with out batteries, volume is far less than the my laptop and you not able to hear anything. Once you have in Active mode(For that you need 2 AAA bateries), then sound is much better (Awesome). I haven't seen this info. anywhere in the description.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty good speaker

Pros: I bought one of these to use with my iPhone in my office at work. It sounds very good, even without batteries.

Cons: The plastic flap that acts as a stand when you open the cover looks like it will break easily.

Other Thoughts: I recommend this if you can get it for less than $10, but there are better options out there if it isn't on sale.
