JVC XS-SR3J Personal Surround Speaker for iPod

Pros: Decent sound, iphone 4s compatible, has a remote, has AUX/optical in.

Cons: I got a bad luck one. The connector with iphone's not working, has to use Aux in. Plane to return for exchange, but returning cost higher after rebate. Decided not to return, now did not get rebate neither rebate status.

Other Thoughts: Never buy any with rebate again!

Pros: Light weight

Cons: It is 100% incompatible with the latest iPod Touch (4th gen). Attach it to the XS-SR3J and you get ... nothing.

Other Thoughts: I have a radio with an iPod dock that I bought maybe 5 years ago and at least with it the sound comes through from the Touch 4G, even though it doesn't charge. But with the XS-SR3J, no charging, no control, no sound, nothing. It is possible to hook up the Touch through the headphone jack for sound (but the remote won't control the Touch 4G)

Cons: it is not loud as it is a personal speaker, but given its original price, I think this is con. But don't make it wrong, it is loud enough for a small if you turn up volume.

It is bulky, given its functions and its volume.

It won't turn on/off automatically so if I want to use iphone as a night stand + alarm clock, I have to keep it on all the time. I will check power consumption later and follow up.

Power supply design is not good. it is laptop PSU style.

Other Thoughts: 1. It's bulky for its sound volume, but, it is a personal speaker, so I won't complain.
2. Since I mainly use it as background radio in bedroom so it is loud enough for me.
3. I can put ipad on it, but the charging current is ONLY 0.5A, so ipad won't get charged.

I hope it could be more compact, has room for battery to built in so I can use my own AA rechargables.

Pros: compact 60s mod design, pivoting mount for landscape viewing, remote control, Apple iPod dock & analog and digital inputs, 3 brackets for versatile mounting, surround sound on tiny unit

Cons: Had to really press iPod into unit to get right channel to come on - was left channel only & at first thought I would have to RMA it, but no. Sound is not deafening but @ 5 Watts no one could really expect it to be other the guy who gave it one star. Speakers are not the highest quality but not bad. Landscape view isn't tilted up much & so have to wedge up front end it if base not close to eye level

Other Thoughts: Love the landscape viewing, it's so rare in a dock, Sound is good, Surround is definitely a plus. Would never have paid $99.99 much less $149.99 for it but a steal @ refurbished shell shocker prices

Cons: Terribly quiet

Other Thoughts: I got this for my wife so she could listen to her iPhone while working the in the kitchen or studying. This device was so quiet she couldn't even hear it from a room over with a small amount of noise. It's honestly about the same volume as the iPhone's speakers.
I asked Newegg for a refund (minus stocking fee, of course) and they insisted I pay to ship it back, then they would send a replacement of the same bad system. By then, however, I would have lost the ability to get a $30 rebate I had to mail in.
Without a doubt the worst experience I have had with Newegg. The device is going in the trash, and my Newegg account is unlikely to be used again.

Pros: After a few months of research, I must say this is the best for the price. I have very high standard for sound quality but this surround speaker is incredible. Crisp clear sound that you can actually hear lyrics of each word. I am glad i didn't purchase the Ihome dock.
