5 out of 5 eggsGreat overall package.

Pros: Despite this box being so small you can install many components. I have an AMD X2 6000+, 4GB of RAM, 8800GTS, (2) HARD DRIVES, & an OPTICAL DRIVE. System has been running stable for over a year now. I even updated to Vista 32bit and was able to find drivers for all the components. System was easy to build and the cable management system made it a breeze to install components.

Cons: Power supply died after a little over a year of daily usage. Probably due to all the heat and items I was running on it.

Other Thoughts: I have been nothing but impressed with the performance and the amount of components this system can hold. The form factor is perfect for my desk as it has very limited space. This has been my third shuttle product I have purchased and won't be my last.

5 out of 5 eggsPowerful Quality System, a Few Idiosyncrasies

Pros: Quality build system. Great documentation. Great thermal design actually makes for a fairly cool case even with so many components put into the smaller space. Also, as always with Shuttle systems, wiring management is great and actually makes the case feel very roomy. Also, a fairly high wattage (and quiet) power supply for its size. Fits and powers a full-sized graphics card without problems.

Cons: Motherboard has two separate single, non-standard USB headers, and the case comes one short converter cable that changes the smaller 5-pin USB header into the more standard 4-pin header. This means you can really only install one internal, single-header USB device without going through a bunch of trouble. Also, there's no built in wireless networking, and only a single free PCI slot, so if you plan on having wireless networking, you won't be able to install a modem or sound card or anything else.

Other Thoughts: The included CD did not have Vista drivers so I had to hunt around a bit to get the drivers for this system. However, once I found them, my machine has been running solid. Considering the abundance of compatibility issues with 64-bit Vista machines, this has been a pleasant surprise. Also, I bought the refurbished version from Newegg, and I haven't encountered any problems.

2 out of 5 eggsbetter mobo needed

Pros: setup was trouble free. nice compact size. no problems with temps even with a 10k rpm HD and a BFG overclocked vid card.

Cons: worked great for the first 3 months then the mobo smoked.

Other Thoughts: my last 4 ASUS mobo's are still working after years of abuse so that is what will be replacing this.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for office desktops and Home as well

Pros: These have been great so far (purchased 3 of them)even though I prefer intel over AMD it was the only model left that had any raid support which I require in all of the office configs that I setup. Iv used shuttle products specifically the XPC's since the PIII days. This particular model seems to be running great with Vista business 32bit in a raid 5 config with Office 2007 SB edition. Note that these run 24/7 for close to a month so far with no blue screens or lockups. I guess iv been lucky compared to others.

Cons: No cons everything works as advertised for me.

Other Thoughts: this seems to be the last of the raid supported systems since all of the newer models are coming without raid including the higher priced XPC's which is a bummer for me since raid workstations are a big seller for me providing reduncy for my clients and my office without adding a huge cost difference and keeping with a small form factor to save desktop space. Will have to move on once these are discontinued. Shuttle its been a good 7 years...

2 out of 5 eggsReliability

Pros: Great form factor, great look.

Cons: Reliability! I've purchased four of these units for my company and for a client. We've had hardware troubles with three of them. Intermittent NIC on more than one (as someone else stated), motherboard failures, fan noise, even hardware freezing.

Other Thoughts: I have been a BIG proponent of Shuttle - I've probably bought or had clients buy over a dozen over the years. This SN27P2 model is the first real dud I've seen.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid

Pros: Capable of handling a good array of hardware in minimal space.

Cons: Still slightly pricey IMHO. Using a dual-slot cooler equipped card (8800GTS) renders the PCI slot useless, so if you want wireless you'll have to go external.

Other Thoughts: Installed 4GB Corsair RAM, EVGA 8800GTS 640MB, A64 X2 5200 (65W), Lite-On DVD burner, Seagate SATA2 hard drive. Windows XP Pro. No bugs, no glitches. There's no way to get this much power in such a small space except with Shuttle.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: In short, more than i could have hoped for. If it wasnt for my room heating up in the afternoon, id put the fans on it on low and even sitting next to me on the desk it makes barely any noise. Didnt think that it would support a x1950 based video card with its apparently wimpy 300-something watt psu, but i was wrong, running strong for over a year now.
also it runs very cool, since all the air intakes are more or less direct to the outside air.

Cons: when dust settles on it you see it right away, and all the sound ports on the back are kind of difficult to figure out, since they are all the same color.
sound quality through the microphone is a bit bad, but its nothing to whine over .

Other Thoughts: Overall works perfect IF you put windows XP on it, judging by some of these other reviews, Vista has more than a few conflicts with this system.

4 out of 5 eggsVista works fine

Pros: I'm not sure what the last guy was talking about but this works flawlessly with Vista. I installed Vista and did the Microshaft updates and all was good (everything detected & working).

Cons: Still having trouble with Debian 4.0r1. Network speeds are about the speed of dial-up. Tested with Debian 4.0r0, Debian 4.0r1, Kubuntu 7.01, CentOS 5.0 and a few other distros and the only one that had my network speeds working was a live PCLinuxOS 2007 disc.

Other Thoughts: This systems works great with Windows, but my blame would have to fall on Nvidia's shoulders for the Linux support. If I can get Debian working correctly I'll be a happy camper.

5 out of 5 eggsExelent Case!

Pros: Great case, I have been running this case for over a year now without any major glitches, or a need for a re-image. Install was very easy, the setup of the case was very well thought out.

Cons: If I had to nit-pick, It is a little weird that the rest button is so small.

Other Thoughts: AMD X2 3800+, EVGA 7900 GTO, 1 GB PC 6400, Windows XP.

1 out of 5 eggsSteer Clear of This Baby!

Pros: Small and easy to throw out a window, off a cliff, or from a moving automobile.

Cons: Does not work with Windows Vista as advertised but getting their support to admit this is impossible. I called and was told that "it won't work with Vista." I was also told that "It works with Vista and is not false advertising." The funny thing was, when I persisted to try and get an answer, I got both answers again. So, it works and does not work. The driver downloads on their site are the incorrect downloads, there is a serious lack of ducumentation with these boxes.

Other Thoughts: I paid the big bux for one of these because I had a customer who didn't want to take chances with shotty support and inferior product. Boy was that ever a mistake! As it turns out, I paid three times too much for something that does not work as advertised, then wasted 40 hours trying to make it work and subjected myself to rude support that doesn't even try to help, they just try to get you off the phone and pass the blame. Typical of what you'd expect from a low-end company who will soon be out of business.
