4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Little screamer.. This is my 3rd Shuttle and the best by far.
i7-920, 6 gig ram, 2 Hitachi 2 terabyte drives, 1 LG blue-ray burner, and Ge Force GT 240 video
Its fairly quiet, The 3 e-satas with 1 power take off are handy,

Cons: Price.
Also had problem with blue-ray drive eject button not lining up with case button but was easy to fix with a small modification.
Video card covers second pci-express slot. (probably to be expected with most video cards)

5 out of 5 eggsBest Shuttle Yet

Pros: Super quiet. Easy assembly. Well engineered mobo. ICE CPU heatsink/pipes.

Cons: Where's the 1394? Not real thrilled over the glossy painted aluminum cover. It (micro) scratches too easy. The brushed anodized aluminum on my other Shuttles are more durable.

Other Thoughts: This is the third Shuttle XPC I've purchased in the last 4-5 years. This one is more quiet than the others I've purchased. The ICE and well designed mobo is what motivates me to keep buying these little gems. Some think that the 2 PCI slots are limiting, but I have any need to add anything beyond what is stock on the mobo.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Awesome case, great design, a little more room than my SN95G5.

Cons: *Make sure you have a long enough SATA for a third device (extra cable for internal devices included).

*4 rear USB ports, no PS/2 ports. Plan ahead...

4 out of 5 eggsGreat barebones PC

Pros: * Amazingly small size
* Easy to work with
* Well thought out design
* Most of the same features as a full desktop
* Great cable management
* Decent temperatures with stock cooling
* Quiet
* Removable optical and 3.5" bay for easy access
* Plenty of ports for all of your needs
* Setting up RAID was extremely simple

Cons: * My Blu-Ray drive button doesn't match up with the front so I need to eject with a keyboard shortcut
* Can't do anything with the keyboard until in the OS (slim logitech backlit keyboard) but it worked on my other computer. Another USB keyboard worked just fine though

Other Thoughts: Some people mentioned the 3rd SATA cable having a "notchless connector" but if you read in the manual that's for connecting to the back of the computer, along with a power adapter for that 4 pin port, for having an internal HDD hooked up to the back. It's not a mistake.

I noticed that there is a bluetooth and wifi light and symbol on the front of the case but there isn't any wifi or bluetooth included with this system so I have no idea why it's there.

The front audio port for me has pretty bad hiss to it but the rear audio port works fine.

System: I7 920, 3GB DDR3 RAM (1GB X3), 5850, 2 TB (1TB X2) RAID 0, 21.5" 1080p monitor, logitech slim blacklit keyboard, logitech wireless mouse, Windows 7 home upgrade

runs everything I throw at it on max for <$2000 new

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Time-Saving Case!

Pros: Pre-built internals, just drop in CPU, RAM, Storage, and Video Card. IDE headers, SATA headers, E-SATA headers all readily accessible, plenty of upper head-room for taller memory sticks. My rig is running 16Gigs of RAM and an i7-950 The cooling fan runs silent/idle most of the time. "Top speed" fan noise isn't that bad even when maximally cpu-loaded tasks compiling Linux Kernel with -j8.

Cons: Only 2 PCIe slots - shop carefully for "single slot" video cards if you want to keep that 2nd slot free! See my shopping list below for what I used. But really, whatcha expect for a tiny case - sacrifices have to be made.

Other Thoughts: Readily accepted 16GB G.Skill RipJaws RAM (NewEgg # N82E16820231312), i7-950 (NewEgg # N82E16819115211), and a NVidia 9800 (NewEgg # N82E16814130435) - actual items I ordered and installed in my case. They're not on the official "supported" list, but work just fine in my rig. More power in 2 cubic feet of space than my corporate application server. :-)

3 out of 5 eggsMobo fried, waiting for a new one.

Pros: Sexy machine, solid construction.

Cons: Motherboard fried within 10 min of startup. White smoke from motherboard and charred chip.

Other Thoughts: RAMed. Had to ship it back and wait for another one.

3 out of 5 eggsRAM issues

Pros: System setup:
Intel Core i7-920 Bloomfield 2.66GHz LGA 1366 130W
Crucial Ballistix Tracer 6GB Kit
Asus EAH5870
(2) WD 1Tb Black 7200
LG Black Blu-ray Reader & 16x DVD Burner
Windows7

System runs great with no power issues thus far. I have used the system for DVD encoding, digital video editing, and an ocassional older game with no Win7/software issues thus far.

Cons: BIOS only recognizes 4 of the 6gb of Crucial Ballistix Tracer 6GB RAM that is installed. CPUID sees all three sticks. I updated to the latest BIOS. I contacted Shuttle Customer support and was given... "that RAM is not on the compatibility list"... Sorry. Ensure, if you buy this system that you buy the RAM on the compatability list otherwise you will not get any kind of customer service.

1 out of 5 eggsWork-Box Miss

Pros: i7 in a small box.

Cons: Worthless for video work.

Other Thoughts: When I was told by our IT that Shuttle has an i7 box I was thrilled.
I thought I could FINALLY build a nice video work-box to match the size and look of my TriCaster .
But... it has no 1394!
A good sound card and video card will kill the two slots.

All that waiting for nothing...

Looks like I'll be doing the Thermatake Lan box with an Asus Gene or an Evga 121 after all...

4 out of 5 eggsVery Nice

Pros: Size, the thing is small. Quick and easy assembly, the majority of the wiring is pre-run.

Cons: PRICE, it's had to justify it. No Bluetooth, No built-in wifi

Other Thoughts: I fit a 5870 in it with very little room to spare

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little beast!

Pros: It was exactly what I was looking for in size and power. The smallest x58 setup available with premium quality parts. The cooling system is very quiet (my notebook's fan is louder) yet effective. Was the easiest setup ever. Purchased it at the perfect time because now it is fully Snow(ing) right now. Sorry pc :-)

Cons: The loud fan at startup is kinda too loud. Might wake up your neighbors...lol. I wish it would have come with a bracket for 2.5" drives since that is what I am using. Also, as others have noted, the third SATA cable is not a standard cable. I had an extra so that wasn't a problem for me.

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for x58 power but in a SFF... STOP.... this is the ONLY way to go. I tried to build my own SFF system but every time I looked at it I wished I had just bought the sx58h7. So if size is a major deciding factor in your purchase do not think twice about buying this. It is a niche product made for you and worth the cost. Great little beast that you'll love working on... but if you are looking for a big monster rig that takes up all your space, this might not be for you.
