quality made
- Pros: well made imo. something that no one has touched on is that the cd looks like one of those that has to be pushed closed after ejecting. i was pleased to find that this is not true. nice and light. computer will not receive power if an incorrect cpu is installed. i mean the power brick powers down even... quite shocking. no pun intended. this case is definitely on a different level than the antec aria, the aria is nice, but not as polished imo.
- Cons: shuttle email support is terrible. i had to figure out with my limited intellect that pugetsystems had sold me the wrong processors (both core duos, not pentium m or celeron m). it has been since june 2007 and i have yet to receive a response from shuttle...
- Other Thoughts: had to eat a restocking fee, but i think newegg customer service was still pretty decent. i mean, i DID open it and TRY to build a system with it. not newegg`s fault, just mine for trusting pugetsystems to ship me what i paid for.
Very pleasing QUIET machine
- Pros: It's quiet and cool. I finally have the machine I had hoped for when I built my previous Shuttle (SS40G with Athlon 2100) 6 years ago. With the Pentium M 750 CPU and 2GB RAM, it's a little faster than the older machine. Went together easily. I like the sturdy hold-down screws and foam gasket of the heat sink. I had purchased a CPU used on The auction site, and had random crashes. The guy honored his warranty and took it back. The second, from another vendor, was perfect. Both were $50 + $6 or $ten shipping, with Buy it Now. I see some for cheaper, but not as good feedback. I also see some purportedly new CPUs at sky high prices. First box without a trace of MS Windows. Running PCLinuxOS 2007 primarily, with Fedora 7 and Puppy 2.17 also installed. Very minor installation glitch is that most installs don't properly set the volume control for the Front speaker channel of the 7.1 hardware, and requires an adjustment.
- Cons: The CD/DVD door cover is a bit fiddly to set up.
Very Good - if you conifg approp.
- Pros: • Nearly silent w/ aftermarket fan
• Windows or Linux (Ubuntu) - friendly to both
• Holds 3 drives
• Bundled sound card quite decent
• Temps on board/processor always <50c!
• Draws <40watts TOTAL. Where I live, this saves me ~ two c notes annually
- Cons: • Fiddly cables
- Other Thoughts: • Have this w/ a Pentium M LV 738. You can find surplus Pentium Ms for cheap
