The i3-4010 model has 2 64-bit cores with hyperthreading and supports VT. I built a vmware esxi installer with support for the integrated ethernet and sata chipsets. This NUC makes a nice micro-vmware system, running a small virtual lab for testing server configurations. With 16gb of ram it can run a few decently-sized vms without much strain. Cons: The latest NUCs are really picky about memory. I tried using some 'dual voltage' memory that was supposed to work at both 1.35v and 1.5v and it didn't work, unfortunately. I definitely recommend looking at Intel's officially supported memory page and only buying one of the models of memory specifically listed there. The NUC loses an egg for being too picky about memory. Other Thoughts: I also wish that the NUC had an expansion plate -- using a dual-port mini pcie ethernet adapter this could make a nice little router system, but none of the currently available NUC cases provide a nice mounting plate for the extra ports.
