2 out of 5 eggsHigh Defective Rate

Pros: small, quiet, 2 memory slots, serial connectors

Cons: Bought 8, 2 were DoA.

Other Thoughts: Out of the 8 I bought to use as Point of Sale\Kiosk PC's, two would not power on or had power issues. The company made me foot the bill for shipping them back and also charged me an additional $20 for "handling". It's like paying an additional $50 for a product that should have worked right when I got it.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Value

Pros: Low power consumption, small form factor, good expandability options, dual gigabit ethernet ports.

Cons: Can't easily substitute 3.5 HDD for slim DVD

Other Thoughts: I got this for use in an RV, where power is limited by battery capacity and solar input. I need something that can manage my internal network, act as an wifi access point for my tablet, interface that to either Clear wireless broadband or external wifi (without having to reconfigure all my other devices), and act as a file server.

And it needed to do all of that while consuming no more than 25 watts of power. Obviously that didn't leave me with a lot of options, even though actual CPU horsepower could be minimal.

It took some finessing to get it working on Ubuntu 12.04, the first 4 hours was spent banging my head against the wall trying to figure out why the USB stick would boot and install to an old notebook drive, but the HDD wouldn't boot. Turned out to be a bum drive, and I installed to a 500GB 3.5" desktop drive instead (actually, it already had 10.04, and I just let it auto-upgrade).

There's barely enough room to put a 3.5" drive inside at the front, but no way to sec

1 out of 5 eggsTotal Junk

Pros: Small form factor, Inexpensive, uses off the shelf components.

Cons: Quit working after 1 day. Internal power board failed. This is not inexpensive, it is cheap. Poorly made, and not worth buying. I had modified the case to access the PCI slot so I cannot return. I will salvage the mother board and buy a better case and power supply and try again.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to make a Linux firewall. I did not need high performance so I thought this would suffice. I will buy better quality next time. Cheap does not equal inexpensive.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat device

Pros: This machine does run pfsense 2.1. It makes an ideal low powered firewall device. Great buy!

Cons: Wouldn't use it for much other than a firewall.

1 out of 5 eggspfSense

Pros: Small case

Cons: This computer will not run pfSense. It also has so little power output that it is borderline useless. That and the network cards are 100% useless.
