Works perfectly and massively under utilized for a four person home. Cons: The external power supply died within 90 days of purchase. You may want to consider purchasing an extra power supply if you plan to use it as router/firewall. The power supply specs are 12v 5 AMP 2.5 MM plug. Newegg item# 9SIA6T536R1201 should work. Cons: BIOS isn't great, smart fan control doesn't allow fans to be shut completely OFF until high temperature is reached (to run fanless) and instead the lowest they can be set at is 10% Case does have some very sharp edges, be careful Did you find this review helpful? Works well so far for intended purpose. Approximately 40% CPU utilization with intrusion prevention and web site scanning operating during limited home usage. Still continuing to test and evaluate performance and cooling at this time. Cons: Unique SATA power source connector on motherboard, must be used with included married SATA data and power connector to connect a 2.5" SATA HD or SSD. The included SATA right angle connector at the motherboard blocks the second SATA port on motherboard, however there's no obvious secondary SATA power source on the motherboard either. Other Thoughts: May want to use a second 60 mm fan. Fan power connectors are available on the motherboard, but securing a second fan may require require a DIY mounting solution. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful. Did you? Quick build (threw in 60gb SSD, 8 gigs of GSKIL ram) and boom...she's up and running pfsense. This bad boy actually has more throughput than the original 5 yr old PC i had running pfsesne. **NOTE: The bios on it is not perfect. by default, the case fans DO NOT run UNTIL you go into bios, and turn OFF the smart controller. Other than that, order an extra 40 x 40 x 10mm case fan w/three pin, and you should be solid, as i am Cons:* As previously mentioned, case fans do NOT run from factory. YOU MUST disable the smartcontroller in Bios to make sure your fans turn on. Not a big deal, as it claims its a fanless setup, but i'm about overkill in cooling so i don't have to fix / replace it constantly from a thermonuclear meltdown Other Thoughts: Excellent box for pfSense.
