4 out of 5 eggsSolid for business

Pros: Small, case cools well when you purchase a 92MM fan and an 80mm fan. Case is failry attractive. Excellent bang for the buck. Everything worked after plugging it all in first time.

Overall, awesome development box for coding.

Cons: Motherboard cannot overclock! There is no PCI-e lock, so what happens is that you go up with the FSB any amount and your NIC stops working. Sure, I can overclock 40% more, except I won't have a NIC! This is a noted problem with this motherboard (P5L-VM) - look it up. I had my 1.86 CPU up to 2.7 and was so happy. Then I realized the onboard NIC wasn't working. Overclocker forums says that a PCI NIC doesn't help either.

Other Thoughts: If you are installing a PCI video card to run 3x monitors, you'll have to change the bios pci priority to PCI Express -> PCI. This tells it to load your PCI-e card first. Fortunately, it only took me about 30 minutes to figure that out.

Setup: This barebones, GeForce 5600GT PCI-e video card 256MB, PCI video card 128MB, 500GB HDD, DVD-RW, 3x 20 in 2005FPW in portrait mode (total 3150x1680 res - yes I'm bragging ;) )

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice- got the right one this time

Pros: Geat system (after receiving the correct one) to neweggs behald even zip******* displays the p2 instead of the v2. p2 a lot smaller started 23 keep that sucker too. both are nice but the pseries is just 2 small to work with 9old, bad eyes, etc) this system has 4 SATA II ports, ide 133 controller, handles the E6600 duo cpu. very nie. soon as i opened the side my wife wanted it herself so i gotta order another one..slapped the ram in (2 sticks 1 gig consair), cpu harddrive & vista, its ready fro anything and fast!!!

Cons: wasn't free and i hope my next order for the 2nd ine gets here soon i wanna realy play with this nice system. wife plugged her camera up a 4 gig flash drive (newegg og course 4 readyboost) and she's out of it.
Nice very niece - when it keeps the ole lady quiet

Other Thoughts: I hope i can afford 3 more (my 2nd and 2 grand kids) Right now, i do not want 2 wait..

1 out of 5 eggswrong system sent

Pros: was sent the P1 instead of V2 system..
I know Newegg will correct it. This has never happened all the 20+ invoice pages and years i've dealt with newegg. I still love em haha.. just want the right computer

Cons: I hope the correct system exists and wasn't entered wrong into their system.. the V2 system i want

Other Thoughts: I can only say NewEgg got right on it.. I'm off 2 buy another video card - another great deal.. NewEgg.. Keep on doing what you're doing (except that last one haha)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat barebone system

Pros: Well built case with plenty of room for cards. Put an Intel Core 2 Duo 4300 in it with the stock fan. 4 slots for RAM; filled all with 1G sticks though XP sees only 3.2G (knew that before I built but whatever--that's XP, not the hardware). Got an ASUS EN7600GS Silent card; this thing is quiet and runs stable. Overclocking available.

Cons: Front of case is somewhat ugly. Black/beige combo only a geek could love.

Other Thoughts: Got this for a home theater machine / game rig hooked up to a 37" lcd. Runs great and I love that I *could* overclock it if I wanted to.

5 out of 5 eggsBlazing!

Pros: As other posters have stated, it will take better than Pentium 4. I ordered a core 2 duo E6600 2.4Ghz, Corsair Valueselect 2GB RAM and a Radeon Sapphire X1650 512MB. Put everything together and booted up perfectly. Bios automatically recognized the video card and disabled the integrated video, and I Overclocked the CPU to 2.70 GHz and it is running great. 60+ FPS at full settings on WOW in most areas, have yet to test Oblivion.

Cons: It's going to be my wife's computer instead of mine...

Other Thoughts: I paid just over $500 including shipping (I had my own HDD & DVD drive) For a system that is twice as good as a Dell I paid double for!

4 out of 5 eggsWrong Information

Pros: Price, 4 ram slots, its ASUS, USB connections up front. Could easily break the cost buying parts on their own.

Cons: Small, PSU could be higher.

Other Thoughts: If you go to Asus' site and click on technical inquiry. Choose barebones, V series, and this model number from the drop down menu- you can click to see supported CPU's. Core2Duo's are supported according to ASUS' website as another poster stated.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat bang for the buck

Pros: Best/Cheapest LGA775 system I've found so far. My dad's office has 4 of these now and all have performed flawlessly from day 1. The case is well designed, looks good and easy to work with inside. I've been putting a 1 gig stick of OCZ DDR2 667 and 531 Prescott P4's in these things and even at default clock speeds, they are very quick. The BIOS offers good control over the system and at 3.6 ghz, the system was rock solid stable after 24 hours burn in. VERY nice.

Cons: My only beef with this barebones system is that every one I've gotten has had it's power supply voltage set to the 230v setting. For some reason, I ALWAYS forget about this and end up scratching my head every time I first boot the sytems and wonder why it's on but not posting. Then it dawns on me to flip the voltage over to 115.

That's really the only problem these things have...and it's not really a "problem" so to speak but Asus should set the voltage accrdingly to what country they're going to.

Other Thoughts: This bare bones kit, a 531 prescott P4, a gig of quality DDR and a $30 Samsung DVD burner and an 80 gig western digital HDD is all you need for a $380 (current prices) killer computer. Toss in a good PCI-E video card and you've got a killer budget gaming rig.

5 out of 5 eggsTech Specs are inaccurate

Pros: Your Specs about SATA are wrong: It supports both SATA I/II which is 150/300Mbps. You also don't list UDMA 133 for PATA support alongside the PATA 100Mbps.

The FSB: is from 1066/800/533Mhz so you can run Pentium D 805 Smithfield to the Conroe Core2Duo.

Cons: None. This is a notice to clean up the Tech Specs.

Other Thoughts:
