- Pros: Stylish and compact. Quiet as well. CPU runs very low temp.
- Cons: BIOS needs updating.
- Other Thoughts: BIOS needs updating as soon as you get the computer. Install OS and flash your BIOS to 0802, which is the most updated BIOS. After you flash, you must go into BIOS setting and do "Load to default." Because if you do not do this, your USB will run on 1.1 speed.
- Pros: Compact, very clean look. Has what most regular folks will need as far as features.
- Cons: Like others said, BIOS updates required. However just get the most recent. No need to apply each one. Power supply set to 230V which is strange for a default. Didn't notice in the specs that the network card is a PCI card, and being that there is only one PCI slot, this is limiting. Also, ASUS could have aimed the hard drives up in the chassis and it would have made a lot more room.
- Other Thoughts: It works fine. I just think they could have done better in the same small space by paying more attention to the details. An inexperience builder will have trouble with some of the nuances though.
Decent
- Pros: Compact and beautiful case design. The most pain-free flapped DVD installations I've done. Fold out power supply/HDD chasis makes access to everything simple.
- Cons: Power supply is underpowered for all but the lowest end pci-e video cards. No case cooling other than the power supply fan. Limited to 2GB RAM. HDD bay cramped requiring angled sata and sata power cables.
- Other Thoughts: I've had intermitent problems with this system not recognizing my pci-e video card and defaults to the onboard video on a cold boot. ASUS has been unable to resolve this issue.
I did have to do multiple bios updates to get the system to recognize my cpu at first but it was a relatively painless process.
Bios is very basic.
