Pros: should get my money back up to a $33 dollar re-stocking fee

Cons: First one was DOA. Would not power on at all. Did an RMA and got the second one 2 weeks later. The second unit would not output video, so may have well as been dead also. I've never heard anything bad about Asus so this experience was an unpleasant surprise.

Pros: You get a lot in such a little package. Modern technology.

Cons: You pay double the price of a comparable desktop and ASUS support is terrible.

Other Thoughts: This second review – my first one was not posted for some reason I do not know.
I was very excited about getting the Mini Vivo UN-62 barebones computer and willing to pay the steep price for the compact size and advanced technology. I do not know how well it actually works because, after receiving the unit as well as a replacement from newegg.com, neither unit would output video in either HDMI or DisplayPort modes. Unfortunately, by the time I received the specialized mSSD drive, the RAM and Modem modules for it, I got a late start getting it hooked up.
Newegg given good support as usual but after receiving and testing my second non-working unit it was past the return period. So I was left dealing with ASUS support. I could find no telephone support so I submitted a written warranty claim through their email channel. A couple of days later I got a reply via email from someone who did not read my email or did not understand the problem. So 5 more days past and I still had not received a response so I logged into my ASUS account at asus.com and found a response there in my inbox – wish someone would have told me to go there to look for a reply.
I was told to request a RMA (no problem) and mail the unit in for repair (but they did not say where to mail it). After waiting on the phone 45 minutes (the phone number was in the last email) and talking to 3 people, I finally got a mailing address for warranty repair service in my area. I sent it off to the address they gave me at a cost of $21.64 to me. This is on top of the shipping cost for returning the first unit to Newegg.
My advice, if you are still determined to order this unit, test it right away and don’t hesitate to return it to Newegg for a refund if you a encounter problem. While I have been pleased overall with several other ASUS products I have and do own, this unit or this series of units, has series problems.
I will write about its performance in the future if I ever get a working unit.
