5 out of 5 eggsWorks for VoIP Server

Pros: Wanted cheap, low power system for PBX in a Flash server. Works entirely as expected. No issues. Not much heat out of the back.

Cons: Tight case took a short while to understand.

Other Thoughts: Want something like this for a low power pfSense router next.

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome bang for the buck

Pros: Cheap, small, faster than the legacy machines they are replacing. I have around 10 of these for my production staff and no problems yet. Running Windows 7 (32 bit and 64 bit) without trouble.

Cons: CDROM drive button doesn't work. You are better off getting an external. Just cheap molding.

If you do get an internal drive, try to get the shortest one possible. Long drives will cover up the CPU fan (BAD).

Plastic clips that hold the front bezel on break easily, be careful.

Other Thoughts: Using these as replacements for older P4 and Celeron machines running simple tasks. Much faster than I had expected. Will buy again!

3 out of 5 eggsbig on the outside, tight on the inside

Pros: * Cheap (got it for $139.99) with 2GB RAM
* low power usage

Cons: * Bigger than I thought it would be from the bigger. I was expecting Eee Box size, it's closer to SFF PC from Dell

* space is tight on the inside

* there's 2.5 mount but not long enough to fit a laptop hard drive, you'll have to get a 2.5 to 3.5 inch mounting if you're using a laptop hard drive.

* No PCI-E slot, the one upgrade slot is an old fashion PCI low profile. The onboard graphics is weak and I wanted to upgrade to a low-profile Radeon 5450 that I already have. No such luck.

Other Thoughts: Know what you're getting it for before jumping and buying it.

3 out of 5 eggsnot bad, not great

Pros: Got this as a Shell Shock deal w/2Gb ram. Nice small case, PSU quiet, top case fan quiet. Popped memory in, popped a Ubuntu 10.10 USB flash stick in and fired it right up.

Cons: CPU fan noisy as hell with case in vertical position, lay it flat it's quiet. Have tons of small CPU fans so I just swapped it out. Stand to hold case upright doesn't fit tight to case, touch the case and it slides back out of stand. Nothing a couple dabs of glue on the bottom side won't fix.

Other Thoughts: Hard drive I ordered with this coming in separate shipment so I haven't finished yet. Plan on this being a Win 7 media streamer for our bedroom 720p TV. Only low-profile PCI cards will fit, have to modify bracket on the wireless card I plan to use. No biggie for me but may be for some

3 out of 5 eggsGood, but not perfect

Pros: Nice design, not a lot of super-bright LEDs or chrome knobs everywhere. Uses standard desktop components (optical, 3.5" HDD), making it reasonably cheap to build-out. Stays fairly quiet under load, and handles 720p content without so much as a hiccup (XBMC, VLC player, and Media Player). No HDMI, DVI, or S-PDIF.

Cons: Interior layout is TERRIBLE. watch your memory height or the optical will interfere with memory when installed. Odd-shaped PSU comes *inredibly* close to HDD, and getting use of the included <6" sata cables is tricky at best.

Other Thoughts: I'm surprised for as tight as everything is packed in, there is no mounting for a 2.5 or 1.8" drives. If you are putting a laptop drive in this (HIGHLY recommended given the tight interior space), you'll need your own adapter plate.

HDMI, mount points for a laptop HDD, and relocated or angled memory slots would make this 5/5 stars. As it is, it's a fairly competent machine once you get past the little problems.

5 out of 5 eggsnice

Pros: Small. Easy to assemble. You only have to add a Hard drive, Optical Drive if you need one, and a Stick or 2 of desktop DDR2 memory. Opened box, added hd, and memory. 5 minutes I was installing an OS. Have to say that was easy.

Cons: Case fan is a little loud. Fan is louder than normal im sure because of smaller size trying to move more air. You could change out the fan if you wanted.

Other Thoughts: Fan is located on top if standing the case up. Good design so as to have good airflow and minimize heat build up in the case. Over all great price for a great little pc.
