2 out of 5 eggsBloatware, Win 7 Drivers x86 Drivers only.

Pros: Was low price. Uses 1xDDR3 Sodimm, 1x2.5" Hard Drive

Cons: -Only Video Drivers for Windows 7 32bit (no vista, no Windows 8, No XP)
-Driver CD installed bloatware and ads (such as trial of Norton Internet Sercuity)

Other Thoughts: If you want a cheap bookshelf computer choose a different one. The bloatware is terrible for a custom build.

4 out of 5 eggsFoxconn booksize barebone with Atom D2700

Pros: Got it with free Crucial SSD 64GB for $160.
2.13GHz dual core with Hyper-Thread
Use cheaper sodimm DDR3
Good for browsing internet, video streaming and play TKaraoke software on it.
I had a previous version with Atom 330, 2GB DDR2, 160GB 5400rpm HDD, Win7 ultimate 64 OS, still running at my parents home.

Cons: No 64bit video driver so I have to run Win8 x32 instead of Win7 x64.
CPU overheat because of bad thermal paste, need to apply silver5.

1 out of 5 eggsIntel cannot be trusted, Linux issues

Pros: I got this for $129 with the thought if I could not use it for VMware ESXi, IPCop, SmoothWall or FreePBX I would install Microsoft Windows and off it onto my Mother-in-law... If I could give this 1/2 egg I would. I still have to run the Kill-O-Watt meter on it to see how much power it takes.

Cons: VMware admin and looking for a device that is low powered for IPCop Firewall. IPCope 2.0.3 crashes after install, kernel panic. This was posted by someone else and I thought Intel would have fixed it and pulled the old part numbers. WRONG, Intel will bend you over every time they can and have the chance!

Other Thoughts: Foxconn plastic is flimsy, Poor wireless with Windows 7 x86. No Windows 7 x64 drivers. Windows 7 uses only 3 gigs of ram when 4 is installed. I have seen some systems use 3.5 or 3.8 gigs of RAM with 32 bit Windows.

2 out of 5 eggsVery Small

Pros: Very small foot print. Good CPU performance for size.

Cons: A USB port died after 2 days.

Other Thoughts: Going to ask for a newegg replacement. Will update on how well the new one works.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little box for the $$

Pros: Works awesome for our uses. I think many people are just expecting too much out of a bookshelf system.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: We have 3 of these running in the field 24/7 for about 3 weeks now. None of them run that hot and they have not given us any problems at all.

4 GB of RAM and a 500GB, 7200 rpm hard drive and it makes an awesome low volume web and application server.

Don't block the vents and you wont have a problem.

Don't expect a net-top box to play HD video well unless it has a solid GPU.

1 out of 5 eggsBroke in a day

Pros: nice small footprint

Cons: not very clear if the unit powers up, fan would kick on then stop. I bought two, one is already dead.

Other Thoughts: Disappointed

2 out of 5 eggsdo not buy this for graphics or wifi

Pros: Best booksize barebone I have come across. Included mounting hardware/stand is a huge plus. card reader/USB3.0 just sweeten the deal.
CPU already included.
installation was a breeze: just pop in a memory and a HDD and you are all set for your OS installation
I downloaded all drivers from Foxconn website and didn't have any issues installing win 7 32-bits using a usb drive.
the board has a mini pcie slot for adding SSDs or wireless/bluetooth cards, which is a good option to have imo.

Cons: Graphics drivers are a huge issue. google GMA3600 before you buy. if you intend to use this for HTPC use then don't bother; I will be returning mine because this is what i wanted to use it for; games are a strict no-no, even low-end games. I read there are no good linux drivers as well, but didn't try looking for one myself. There are no win 8 drivers and there never will be (read on intel support forums).
there is just a single slot for RAM, so can't do dual channel or that sort of thing.
wifi has its own issues where it doesn't live up to expectations (either the internal antenna or the the wifi module itself is no good)

Other Thoughts: Great SFF/booksize PC and huge benefit with cost. if your usage is anything other than HTPC, games or what requires wifi, this may be a good low-compute machine (for example home server on wired LAN or basic browsing machine or something connected to 720p or lower res monitor)

Manufacturer Response:

We apologize for any inconvenience. Intel only provided us with just Win7 32bit for GMA 3600 series. There is no Winxp or Win8 drivers for this platform.

But for HD video, our RD team is suggesting to use Arcsoft player. You can download it from Arcsoft website and try it.

Best regards,
Foxconn support team.

1 out of 5 eggsVery Disappointing

Pros: Small, inexpensive during the post Thanksgiving Day Cyber Week sales. Comes with USB3 and VESA mount. Installed 4 GB of Corsair memory, a 30 GB Zalman SSD, and Win7 x86 with no problem.

Cons: Bought this for use as an HTPC. The graphics can almost keep up with 720p but only if the monitor is set to 1280x720. Forget about 1080p and the 1920x1080 setting. From what I can gather, the box was supposed to include a mini-PCI wireless card; mine did not.

Other Thoughts: I bought this before the recent spate of bad reviews following the Cyber Week sales. I wish I had known.

Manufacturer Response:

Mini PCIe Wifi module is now being installed in the backside of the board. This will free up the Mini PCIe slot. As for the video performance issue, please call our support team at 714-626-6909 for further assistance or submit your email to the link below. Our hours of operation are from 830am to 530pm PST, Monday through Friday (excluding public holidays).

1 out of 5 eggsMore bad news

Pros: NONE

Cons: Since video would not play smoothly, I ordered a Broadcom Crystal pcie card to install. Well, it's in and running and this pile of junk still will not play videos without studdering. And if I turn on windows Aero, FORGET IT! Videos look like a slide show.

Other Thoughts: Itunes videos will run IF aero is turned off. I have a dell netbook with the Broedcom chip and it plays fine, it only has a single core Atom. This Foxconn this is a real POJ ! Wonder if this review will even get posted.

Manufacturer Response:

We apologize for the inconvenience. Currently, Intel only provided just Win7 32bit drivers. So please make sure to run it with Win7 32bit. Also for HD video, RD team suggests to try with Arcsoft player. You can download it from Arcsoft website & try it.

Best regards,
Foxconn support team.

1 out of 5 eggsWould make a great little server if it worked.

Pros: Smaller than my Asus router

Cons: Can't get any OS to install. Spent over 16 hours working on it. Hard locks when I try to install Windows. Was able to boot linux installation disk a few times, however never made it to a complete install without it hard locking. Tested memory in other machine, and memory passes Memtest 86+ with no problems. Same issues as everyone else on here that got a lemon. Wasn't looking for a graphics workhorse, just wanted to use as small simple server.
