1 out of 5 eggsCannot play DirectX games, even old ones. Small and quiet.

Pros: Small space. Low noise. Inexpensive.

Cons: This machine is supposed to be able to play games fairly well. By specs it has a good processor, and the integrated graphics aren't bad.

BUT! It will BSOD every time you try to play a DirectX game.

All drivers are up to date. I've tried drivers directly from Foxconn and from Intel, and nothing works. It simply cannot play games.

Memory is not at fault (tested).

Other Thoughts: It's good for light internet browsing. Does not work for games. Even games from 2010.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

We apologize for the issue you are having. Our AT-7500 should be able to handle those games, it is possible that the Intel Graphic is defective as we've experienced from another unit as it would crash whenever Direct X was running.

For testing, you can download 3D Vantage (Basic Edition) to test Directx 10 or 3Dmark06 for Directx9.0 testing. If it can pass those benchmarks then there is nothing wrong with the unit.

3D Vantage Basic Edition:

If you continue to have this issue after the test, please call us at 714-626-6909 or submit your email to the link below. Our hours of operation are from 830am to 530pm PST, Monday through Friday (excluding public holidays). We would be happy to exchange this unit.

Best Regards,

Foxconn Support Team

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PC

Pros: This is a great PC if you want to do basic computing. Coupled with an SSD and 8GB of memory and this sings with Win8. Optical audio out is something NUCs don't have.

Cons: None at this time.

5 out of 5 eggsUltrabook in a box

Pros: Very high build quality and attention to detail, excellent performance for a small, quiet PC.

Cons: Can get pretty hot under load, pricey.

Other Thoughts: I'm very pleased with this; I had one of the earlier plasticky models with an Atom processor; this is very different in both build quality and performance (and the price does reflect this). I can even play Metro 2033 on this little guy (with lowest settings)!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for business

Pros: Fast, small form factor, quite, 6 USB ports, DVI and HDMI options, gigabit. Drivers included on a flash drive.

Cons: I have had 4 of them that had a cross threaded bolt that holds the cover plate on. Not a huge deal but the assemblers should be more careful. I wish they had 8 USB ports but that can be fixed with a hub. And in most cases 6 is plenty.

Other Thoughts: I have now bought 10 of these for my company. Added 8 gigs corsair memory an Adata or OCZ 60 gig ssd and these things just fly. Employees love not having a giant tower under their desk any more. They have gobs of speed for business use and much more. I just mount them on the Vesa mount on the back of monitors and away we go. Works great with both win7 and 8 pro 64 bit. Over time I plan on moving most of our 45 computers over to these. Foxcon has built a great product with these. Good Job.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

We highly appreciate your comment and we thank you for your kind support.

Please don't hesitate to call our technical support if you ever need any assistance.

Best Regards,

Foxconn Support Team

5 out of 5 eggsVery Powerful, Small Package

Pros: Unit is very quiet. It was easy to assemble. Drivers supplied on 4 GB flash drive. Used standard laptop components.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This is a very powerful workstation in a small package. Installed 16GB of RAM and a 1TB hard drive to make a wonderful host for my virtual servers. Being so quiet I have to check that it is still on sometimes. This box really exceeded my expectations for a nano system.

3 out of 5 eggsmsata ssd not recognized

Pros: Great form factor for HTPC, USB 3.0, very little fan noise(does have a fan), looks great

Cons: No bluetooth on included wireless card. Installed a 1TB HDD and a 240GB msata SSD. The msata ssd is not picked up in the bios or windows. I was under the impression that the mpcie slot supported msata ssd from the newegg video review of the similar foxconn at-5570... I went with this model over the nuc because I liked the idea of having the SSD and HDD is the same enclosure but this may not be supported. Hopefully I just haven't figured it out yet.

Other Thoughts: Newegg and foxconn websites are unclear on this model and I'm having trouble finding any other info so I thought I would post some info.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer
We apologize for the inconvenience. The barebone can not support mSATA storage device because of the full length Mini-PCIE function limitation.
Best regards,
Foxconn support team.
