I mount Ubuntu and Kubuntu. 1 partition 350 Gig Ubuntu and 350 Gig Kubuntu. 2 Linux work very good ans de net wireless easy to connect with pass work.

3 out of 5 eggsIt gets HOT!!

Pros: Inexpensive
Small, mounts to VESA-compliant bracket mounts behind monitor
Linux-compatible; I loaded & booted openSUSE13.1 with little difficulty

Cons: **BIOS is weird. If you're going to install an internal SATA drive in this thing, make SURE you boot it from a usb FIRST, or it will automatically default to booting from the (still blank) internal drive. After the first time booting it with the internal drive disconnected, however, the BIOS reliably allows me to select boot device by repeatedly tapping F11 during power-up (but it's too late to press it once you see the message flash on-screen)

**HEAT ... leaving this thing running for any period of time at all, even with the cpu at 10% or less causes severe heat issues & the case can get very uncomfortably hot. Honestly, this cpu simply wasn't made to run with that little heat dissipation, and thermal-protection will scale performance WAY back if you don't provide auxiliary cooling! I cut holes in the back panel of mine & soldered a fan connector to the on-board usb header so I could mount a 120mm case fan. Now I get MUCH better performande out of it, and the cpu no longer overheats!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome little server

Pros: For the last 4-5 years, I've had a small little server running in my house. I've used it for small website servers, FTP servers, file sharing server, etc. It has been a great addition to my house. I originally had a Sheevaplug (it's a small linux plug computer) but the USB died on it after 4 years. It was awesome... it did everything I needed. Once it died, I immediately went searching for my new home server. Newegg had the AT-5570 at the right price and I figured I would give it a try. I love it. I found an old mechanical laptop HD that I had lying around and bought some 4GB DDR3 1066 RAM. I installed Windows 7 and have not had any issues with heat or power. I run my little server headless so I cannot comment on this little guy's ability for video playback. It has been able to tackle everything I have thrown at it thus far. I measured the power intake with a kill-o-watt meter and it averaged 15 watts. It could probably be lower, but I am using a mechanical HD and I have a USB HD attached. I'm sure the power intake could be lowered if you used an SSD and no USB HD.

Cons: Initially, I had issues installing Windows XP. I figured a Windows XP installation would be a smaller footprint and less of a resource hog. But WinXP and SATA have issues from time to time. I just skipped the whole XP installation and stuck to Windows 7. Nothing to sweat...

Other Thoughts: There is a small USB flash drive that comes with the box. This has all of the drivers you need to get this computer up and running. Additionally, you can download all of the drivers from the Foxconn website if you'd rather.

4 out of 5 eggsHi

Pros: Cheap and small...

Cons: a bit slow but i'm only running 2 gigs of memory

Other Thoughts: I just bought a 4 gig stick of Ram by Gskill I believe. waiting for it sitll. the only issue i was having was with netflix. mind you i had not installed the chipset drivers, and i'm alos running windows 7. Netflix video and audio were out of sync, so i installed the chipset drivers and also checked off best performance in windows 7. Netflix is running much better now. I'm sure this lil machine will run better with the 4 gigs of memory that's in the mail. can't wait.. so far so good!

4 out of 5 eggsNice quiet little Kidputer

Pros: Small
Built in wireless, and speaker
Aluminium Construction

Cons: Gets hot if not installed vertically
Not the fastest machine
no IR sensor built in
No Bluetooth

Other Thoughts: I got this little machine for my kids (ages 5 and 7) to play games on, the machine it is replacing is a single core Athlon 64 from 2005. I installed Windows x64 ultimate on it without a hitch. I quickly found out that if you lay this machine flat on it's side it gets really hot. It needs to be mounted or set up on the stand vertically so that hot air rising out of the top vent will allow for cooler air to be drawn up from the bottom vent.
