3 out of 5 eggsPITA to setup.

Pros: When you finally get it working, it works pretty good! Fast enough and can watch HD content. Kodi Box.

Cons: 1) Even with trying to install Windows 8.1 I still have to go into BIOS, turn off secure boot, and enable CSM in order to get it to boot off my USB drive with windows 8.1 on it.

2) Wireless N only supports 2.4GHz range, which I should have read closer at the specs before purchasing.

3) Half the drivers you have to install from the little Nano thumb driver, and the ones that do install are all generic, so it is a good idea to go through your video and audio drivers and update them as well as others that you see fit.

4 out of 5 eggschange of heart

Pros: This is a re-review. I must apologize for the bad review. Foxconn has responded to my issues and all is well. These nano pc's are set up for windows 8 From the factory. I would have changed the review to 5 eggs except for the fact one of the little pcs was doa. I will be requesting a rma. Foxconn has not diappointed On the service side.

Cons: Documentation is still lacking. A short paragraph would have been helpful.

Other Thoughts: My frustration got the better of me. Foxconn's Nano Pc is a great little computer - this version works well for digital signage.

1 out of 5 eggsnano pc no go

Pros: These little barebone pc's are very nice looking and easy to assemble. I liked the dual core amd processor. This is the second batch I have purchased.

Cons: I have purchased 12 of these. The first six that Ipurchased had amd processors and worked great. My recent purchase of six more have intel processors. One is DOA and the other 5 make great paper weights. Windows 7 will not load on any of them. In fact ubuntu will not load either. Very disappointed. I would not recommend purchasing these. Sorry foxconn but these just disappiont.

Other Thoughts: EFI is iffy.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused, by default, BIOS is set for Win8.

you need to set CSM support = enable & OS select = Win7 otherwise you cannot install Win7.

4 out of 5 eggsEverything good but documentation needs updated.

Pros: Small and quiet.
USB drive with drivers a big plus.

Cons: Documentation shows that there should be a PCI-E wireless network card, none in the box.
USB 2.0 ports are a bit flaky prior to installing all drivers, I had to put the drivers (~1.6 GB) on a file share on my network so I could finish installing them.

Other Thoughts: After receiving and following the directions I came to a stopping point. In the assembly directions, it shows that there should be a PCI-E wireless network card. It wasn't a big deal for me for it not to have wireless but it concerned me that a part was missing. Installed Windows 7 with no major issues. Went to install all the drivers from previously noted network share and it turns out the wireless card is built into the motherboard. The assembly documentation should be updated to reflect this change.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

We apologize for any confusion we may have caused, regarding the PCI-E Wireless card, it comes pre-installed on the backside of the motherboard, so when you open the case to install the memory/HDD, you

will not see the wireless card unless you remove the whole motherboard, at the time of this writing, it should be an Intel wireless module in the machine.

For any other questions or support, our free technical support service would also be more than happy to help you.

So, please call us at 714-988-9386 for immediate assistance or submit your email to the link below (it is usually replied within 24 hours). Our hours of operation are from 830am to 530pm PST, Monday through Friday (excluding public holidays).

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Mini PC

Pros: Used this to display powerpoint presentations onto a large monitor with remote screens using VNC. I installed a 120gb ssd and 4gb ddr3 memory and windows 8 performs quite well. After updates, I get about 60 GB free. From cold boot, windows boots in about 5 seconds--this is due to the fast boot feature in windows 8. Restart takes a tad bit longer. This system is good for browsing, productivity, watching movies, and light gaming. I would not count on it to run hard core games or intensive multimedia editing programs (though with an ssd, you probably could)

- The built in wifi supports hosted network feature (ad hoc in windows 8)
- Sleek design
- Lightweight (Can be mounted to many surfaces using dual lock or command strips)
- Good I/O layout
- Comes with vesa mount if you want to mount on the back of your monitor
- Can use HDMI and VGA port at same time for dual monitor setup
- Can be locked with Kensington lock
- 2 USB 3.0 ports on front

Cons: - Fan noise may be noticeable in certain environments (sound level is like a power supply fan)--just increase you're distance from it or place in a cabinet and it becomes inaudible.
- Bios features/options not fully explained
- Does not come with integrated Bluetooth! I don't need it but if you do, you can add it with USB or install a mini pcie Bluetooth module
- Attracts fingerprints easily
- Does not come with csm option enabled (see other thoughts). CSM enables booting from non-uefi media
- BIOS logo is not editable

4 out of 5 eggsGood low end PC

Pros: Good value for price when it's on sale, very low power consumption. Lots of USB ports, both HDMI and VGA video.

Cons: I knocked down from 5 to 4 stars because the documentation is not very good. Read the reviews or do a web search if you are having problems because you're more likely to find a solution that way than in the manual.

Other Thoughts: Buy the nT-iBT19 if it's only a little more expensive. It's basically the same thing only with four CPU cores instead of two.

5 out of 5 eggsamazingly surprised

Pros: I'm impressed, pretty zippy for a celeron processor and has played all
media at 1080p without a glitch. Runs smooth and no heat issues,
runs at 36C. Installing memory and a msata drive were painless.
Wireless works very well, Hdmi audio works great. Everything has worked great, right out of the box. The only thing that through me was the BIO's as others have mentioned.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Installed Ubuntu 14.10, and it works very well.
4 gigs of G.Skill Mem 1.5v
128 gig Micron msata Drive
Am going to put Win 7 and bump up the memory to 8 gigs, works great with 4, just want to see what a difference it might make.
For the money this is a steal, very attractive case and small footprint.

3 out of 5 eggsgood enough for small tasks

Pros: cheap

Cons: flaky bios
not very powerfull

Other Thoughts: I bought this thinking I would use it for some minimalist linux experimentation. The first one didn't boot as far as the bios, just a blue light and the fan turned on. The replacement worked ok, but it's just kind of underpowered, even for a no-frills arch linux installation. I ended up using it as a network server for my old printer: for that it is adequate and it doesn't take up much space.

1 out of 5 eggsRealtek nic wouldn't work

Pros: Small, inexpensive box, would probably work fine if you just wanted to use the wireless.

Cons: Couldn't get the built in NIC to work with Windows 7 64bit or Windows 8 pro. Tried twice, once with the first one and then again with the replacement after an RMA. The NIC would just disable itself after 30 seconds to 3 minutes and disappear from windows device manager. Searching for new hardware would sometimes bring it back. Tried multiple switches and cables. Foxconn support wasn't able to help so we returned for a refund.

Other Thoughts: If you don't need the NIC then it will probably work fine.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for HTPC or home user

Pros: Very small (book size), relatively quiet, decent performance with SSD, or SSHD. Wifi works and has decent range, well crafted aka this doesn't feel cheap at all. I wanted to upgrade my HTPC and had some spare parts laying around (4GB ram, msata 64GB, and a 500 GB SSHD seagate) so I figured why not. Set up was pretty easy, as everyone has said make sure you choose win 7, or 8 in the bios. I chose win8 so it worked out of the box. I didn't notice too much of a difference in performance between the micron msata SSD and the seagate SSHD after 4 reboots, but the performance is adequate. I run movies 1080p, emulator games work just fine like MAME, Dreamcast, dolphin etc. I run a few steam games on this thing and with some tweaking I got sonic generations to run fine at lower res, borderlands pre-sequel looks good, castle crashers perfect, ultra street fighter 4 looks very good, older sonic games and emulators have no problem, and I use this with my 40" vizio 1080p television (it looks great btw). I also run movies through the network using zyxel power line ethernet and this has no issues. Lots of usb ports!! Lastly loow power consumption!

Cons: Odd errors with certain steam games, though this might be intel hd graphics issue...CANNOT get WOL to work!! this is making me crazy! Obviously this could be more powerful, but if you want a good amount more performance get the iBt19 as it has a quad core. Lastly upgrading the bios isn't as easy as it should be.

Other Thoughts: I didn't expect too much but I went ahead and purchased this based on other reviewer remarks (they were right!) I stream many things from my Qnap (2 floors down) through power line ethernet, this handles everything with grace. I run many games on this, including some what recent steam games just to see what this can handle. for something so small and energy efficient it will get the job done for most home reasons. Very snappy with SSD/SSHD, web browsing, emulation gaming, running back ups, 1080P movies etc.

4GB Ram
64GB Micron SSD
500GB Seagate SSHD
