4 out of 5 eggsGood little machine

Pros: Great tiny compact machine, very inexpensive. This little guy has been working great for me this last week. It installed no problem and seem to run just fine. I use it for my home thearter and i have no issues streaming anything from this little system. Plus the Wifi worked just fine when i was setting it up in the upstairs back room of my house, I was about 150 feet from my router and i was getting signal no problem. However now i have moved the machine to my home thearter center which happens to be were my router is located so i just plugging in a lan cable rather than use the wifi as makes no sense to use wifi if your next to the router! It also insures max download speed!

I'm enjoying it so far and I hope to see continue working for the next few years! Plus i'm saving a ton of money each month as i cancelled cable and just stream and use netflix. the computer paid for it's self!

Comes with a remote that can be used in more ways than you expect!

Cons: Finguring out how to put an opperating system on to it! took some time to figure out, but you can basically down load a little program called wintoflash (i think that was it's name) then that converts your 5Gig+ USB to a bootable drive. then you just turn her on and the install starts. Then after that you have to copy the drives to the USB and install them also (nothing speacial there just drag and drop from the Disk to the USB).

Also someone mentioned the fan being annoying, personally haven't noticed it yet so...

One thing i did notice, and maybe becasue i don't know how to tweak the settings, is the remote is sensative, I find with mine if you point it directly at the IR reciever it is too sensative, if you point it away however it works like normal.

Other Thoughts: Google wintoflash for making tansfering you windows disk to a USB and making it bootable.

Upgrade the memery to 4Gig (for $20 why not)

Also I found setting the resolution/screen size to my machine took a little figuring out! you have to go in to the AMD managment center and adjust it from there to make it perfect! I will add I'm have used Apples all my live this is my first PC, so maybe thats me not being in the know!

Perfect little system for running you home thearter, photos and music! basic programs! please remember this AD10 is built to be a home thearter PC and advertised as such!

Also I would say hard wire it if your using for Streaming, it makes sure you get the best speeds! Granted i haven't tried streaming purely through WIFI, but then why bother if the router is next to it! free the router up for the rest of the house. Plus after doing allot of research and talking with peopel in the know, for streaming using a hard wire is alwasy you best choice and should be your first choice.

1 out of 5 eggsHORRIBLE

Pros: It worked well, while it worked

Cons: Died in less than 2 months

Zotac customer service is terrible.

Zotac prints serial number in disappearing ink.

Other Thoughts: In order to rma to zotac you need the model and serial numbers. There is a tiny white tag on the bottom of the box that over the course of a month, fades to blank, thus reducing your warranty period to however long the tag is readable. A terrible way to limit returns

Manufacturer Response:

Hi xaero,

In addition to the white label on the bottom of your ZBOX, your model and serial number is also labeled on the outside of the box. To simplify any customer service processes, it is always suggested that customers register their product on our website. That way, all information is retained and future services are streamlined.

4 out of 5 eggsNice little machine

Pros: Very compact machine, has all the needed peripherals to make this a very viable option for a media center. Will run most all types of media, has trouble with BR resolution from file form. 13 GB movie file was the only one that has stuttered on this machine. Running Blue tooth Keyboard, mouse and headset and output onto 55" Toshiba 1080p 120Hz. Video Card is adequate for running most programs.
First tried to install Ubuntu 12.10 and it installed but didn't recognize the video card and hung after the first reboot. Installed Windows 7 Home 64 Bit edition and has been working flawlessly since the installation.
Very good for what it was made for and works well for media.

Cons: Will hang on first boot on occasion. Will go through the boot up sound and hangs on the zbox menu. Have to hold down the power button to reboot and will boot normally. This only happens on occasion, but is annoying none the less. Haven't flashed the bios yet, so don't know if it was fixed yet.

4 out of 5 eggsGood, but deaf

Pros: Good little box. Ubuntu linux installs and works fine.

Cons: Wifi is somewhat deaf. Sees a lot fewer APs even with an external antenna than my netbook does with it's internal antenna.

Other Thoughts: Buy a 4 gig memory stick to put in when you order.

1 out of 5 eggsDied in a day

Pros: Small form factor
BIOS with a lot of options
Room for customization
Quiet

Cons: Died after one day of use.

Other Thoughts: I wish I could say I had more time with this device, but unfortunately it died after 1 day of use. No modifications or tweaking - I installed a light Ubuntu Distro on it - played around with an RSS reader - surfed the web - updated the OS - and the thing shutdown. Checked for overheating, the unit is not hot, no vents were blocked, darn thing just won't turn on anymore.

4 out of 5 eggsgood hardware in a small package

Pros: External wi-fi antennae
Hi-def audio
Runs cool with my SSD
Plays 1080p flash video no problem
Integrated infrared support
Works with my Harmony One remote control

Cons: HD Netflix is very choppy in Chrome, I.E., and media center (standard def is fine). I even tried upgrading to Silverlight 5 and it made no difference.
Internal fan constantly cycles up/down based upon load. This can be annoying during quiet scenes.

Other Thoughts: I am running this unit with a 4 GB SODIMM (DDR3 PC3-8500) and an Intel 320 series SSD. Here are my Windows7 scores:

Zotac Nano E-350
=============
Cpu=3.8 (dual core)
Memory=5.7 (4gb RAM)
Aero Performance =4.1
Gaming Graphics=5.7
Hard Drive=7.1 (Intel 320 series SSD)
