4 out of 5 eggsOne egg off for DOA HDD

Pros: i3 mobile processor, small form factor, plays back all my video formats well - including blurays. Fan is almost silent (thankfully it is working - unlike previous reviewer). Memory is acceptable but I was going to add more anyway before I purchased this.

Cons: HDD was DOA when it arrived didn't notice because the first thing I did was replace it with an SDD before I even installed an OS. Fast forward to a week ago when I tried to use the WD320GB hard drive else where and drive is recognized by Windows but drive completely fails HDD tests. I plan on RMAing to WD along with a couple of 3TB WD drives that have failed.

Other Thoughts: When I originally bought this the version without a HDD and memory was not available at NewEgg or anywhere else appearently. I tried to order the cheaper version without a HDD or memory and it went from instock to out of stock. So I came back to NewEgg and got this figuring I could use the HDD elsewhere. I just add the 4GB memory module I bought at NewEgg earlier with the existing 2GB module.

2 out of 5 eggsNo Linux support!

Pros: Form factor
Comes with MCE remote

Cons: - AzureWave AW-NB037H Wireless card doesn't work with Ubuntu
- Intel HD Graphics 3000's QuickSync hardware acceleration only works in Windows
- No Linux support
- No CD drive and no installed OS (although some may argue this is a good thing in a bare bones PC)

Other Thoughts: This review is based around a Linux experience. After installing Windows 7 and the included drivers, I found out that XBMC doesn't support Intel QuickSync hardware acceleration, so I opted for an Ubuntu install. Even though the user manual claims to support Linux, Zotac's tech support rep assured me it doesn't, and there are no provided Linux drivers. The AzureWave wireless card is terrible and has a history of incompatibility with Linux. In order to swap it out, you need to actually pull out the PCB, voiding the warranty. The infrared receiver is not a dongle, but attached to a cord and lightweight so it tips over. Finally, the instructions are in Engrish, making references to using a "coin" to tighten screws that don't exist, so take it with a grain of salt.
